Yesterday’s post on this blog, ‘Grounding Heals’, began a discussion about grounding.
I would like to continue today with this: grounding is a wonderful first step in being able to let go of energy.
What do I mean by energy, which energy, and where does it come from?
You have your very own unique personal energy. Sometimes you can take on energy that isn’t yours, just in the course of living your life. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it can begin to pile up. If you are continually taking on stressful energies day in and day out, with no way to release them, they will affect you, and your body.
This is one reason there are so many pain killers on the market today, with drug companies inventing new disorders everyday to go along with the numerous drugs being marketed. Every disease and pain is caused, at its root, by energy.
People can create illnesses and diseases by holding onto harmful energies in their bodies.
One may actually create an illness in order to become aware of and be able to release negative energies. Sometimes it takes an illness or pain to “make it real” for someone. Some people never give themselves enough space or time to rest unless they get sick. Then they have a “good excuse” to relax. I used to do this, many years ago, until I got tired of it.
Some people wouldn’t think of working hard all day without feeding their bodies healthy food, while others are disciplined about getting enough exercise, knowing this benefits them in having enough energy to do what it is they need to do every day. There is another part to all of this: healing your body and spirit by releasing energies that can hurt you, get in your way, and stop you from having what it is you want in life.
Meditation has been growing in popularity in recent years as a result, with many benefiting from its healing benefits. Meditation is one of the best ways I know of to begin to know yourself more fully. It is up to you to do this. Nobody can do it for you.
Through grounding, you can create a safe way to release the energies you choose to let go of.
Old hurts, invalidation, problems, anxiety, charged energies of all kinds, can be released. Grounding can help you see more clearly which energy is yours and which isn’t. Through grounding, you can become safe enough to put down some of the burdens you’ve been walking around with. It can be easier to forgive when you don’t have to control every situation. If you are grounding, you can release the illusion of control. You no longer need it, as your grounding is making you safe enough.
It is interesting to me to see how much energy humans will put into holding onto something that is actually harmful, because letting go means destroying an old way of doing things. And that’s bad, right? We’ve got to keep it together, keep on keeping on, hold it all in, keep plugging away, put up and shut up. Whatever.
Letting go of the old ways of doing anything only leaves you free to take a new step, to create in the present moment, to release responsibilities for those who demand you be responsible for their problems and issues.
Every choice you make is just that: a choice.
It can be a conscious or unconscious choice. And that is another choice.
