Why ‘psychic’ doesn’t need to be proved, and why you can’t

Sometimes it just doesn’t make sense.

It can’t be proven to anyone. It may not seem practical, but you just know something, or feel or sense it. It may not be a pleasant feeling, like when someone is lying to you, and you know it. Or perhaps a dream you had was so strong and real to you that you wanted to follow its message. It might even be inconvenient – here you had all these plans so nicely drawn up, and something within you is telling you to change them, and that something is hard to ignore.

Maybe your gut instincts have been broadcasting something to you. Do you have permission to tune in and listen? Or are you still trying to prove to yourself that your intuition is real?

Many successful people talk about ‘following their instincts’, or ‘listening to their gut’, and how doing so helped them to create their dreams and make them real. Psychic abilities are meant to be a helpful tool you can use to create your own life, everyday. Do you recall a time you strongly knew something, or saw it, and ignored your own information because you gave up space to an outside authority? Do you remember other times when you did listen, and were validated as a result?

Maybe it’s a good time to make your own ability to see, know, sense, intuit, your authority. Rather than seek your answers from others, or look outside of yourself for the “correct” answer, it might be time to look within. If you want to destroy this valuable ally, go ahead and explain it away. Try to prove it’s real to someone else. That would be about as useless an act as trying to prove how you feel about something. You can explain how you feel, but nobody can ever know for sure that you feel a certain way, nobody that is except you.

The only person you can prove anything to about how you feel and what your intuition tells you, is yourself. Why not have some fun with it by keeping it to yourself and learning to listen? The amazing thing about having your own psychic abilities for yourself is that they will work better as you listen to them. If you continue to invalidate the messages and information you receive, it won’t be able to get through to you anymore.

You are a spiritual being in a physical body. You have intuition and other abilities in every part of your being and body. You may have hidden powers you aren’t using yet. Can you imagine yourself having all of your senses up and running? If you can, perhaps it’s time to find out what that means for you.

There is no one correct way to do anything, another reason it’s simply pointless to play the ‘prove it’ game. Twenty psychics sitting in a room looking at the same thing may have 20 different viewpoints. This is why it’s helpful to you to learn to look for yourself. Because you are unique among all beings, you have a viewpoint that no other being will ever have exactly the same as you.

You have valuable gifts to bring, and they begin with you learning about who you are and what you have.

  1. Hi Kris,
I’m not sure how I found your blog, but I’ve been reading for a few weeks now. Just wanted to let you know that your posts are absolutely the best psychic/spiritual material I think I’ve ever read. And I’ve read quite a bit over the years.
Thank you for being so grounded and for everything you write being so practical, down to earth, right here right now.
    With much appreciation,

    • Hello Connie,
Thank you so much for taking the time to tell me this. I appreciate knowing that you find value in my work. Thanks also for reading my blog! Much more is coming – I’m working on my first book now, as well as online classes.

I’ve visited your blog, both it and your work are beautiful! I was a textile designer for a while, way back early in my art career. I’ll add you to my blogroll here.

Many thanks, and much happiness to you.

  2. Hi Kris

I stumbled across your blog…literally via the sharing site Stumble.

Your thoughts on psychic phenomenon are interesting, somewhat in line with my own, but not entirely.

One thought occurred to me recently, are you familiar with people known as Savants?
I am aware that I ‘read’ people very well and if I was not self-aware I might confuse my ability to read people as psychic ability. The people I ‘read’ certainly do, but I am aware of the mental process that is helping me arrive at my reading.

My thought was therefore that in some cases (not all) people may believe they are psychic because they are not aware of the way their brain receives, interprets and analyses data in order to accurately predict an event or to inform someone of something private about themselves etc.

In the case of a Savant with ability in maths, they arrive at mathmatical solutions to problems without being aware of having done any calculations. In other words, the brain is doing the work, but they’re not at all aware of the process.

    Does this make sense?

    Warm regards

    • Hello Leah,

Thank you so much for reading my blog, and for telling me you Stumbled across it. I love StumbleUpon, and have found some very interesting sites that way myself.

Here’s how I see it; being psychic is more than merely a mental process, it is a spiritual ability. You are psychic, by virtue of being human. One can categorize, explain away, or find scientific proof or disproof of anything one chooses. However, psychic ability is normal, human, and comes with the whole package. What you decide to do with it, or whether you choose to even have it, is up to you. If you decide to have it, you can use it to see yourself, and to create your life to be more of how you want it to be. It’s about having the conscious awareness of who you really are.

The greatest psychic ability is the ability to know yourself. The word ‘psychic’ comes with a lot of baggage, and psychic abilities have been touted by many as being available only to a few specially chosen folks. One of the reasons I use the word is because of its original definition: psychic means ‘of the soul’.

One does use the brain differently when working psychically, but one is still using one’s spiritual abilities. Each human being has a unique, one of a kind, spirit. By using your own abilities to see who you truly are, you can live in your truth and have your life the way you want it to be. It is a joy to have this ability for yourself, and doing so changes everything.

Before you believe any experts out there with their dictionary definitions telling you what is possible, you may want to explore turning your own abilities on, safely, for yourself. You may find yourself very pleasantly surprised at what you discover about what you are able to do and have.

Here’s a school I highly recommend, InVision. It’s in Chicago, and is where I trained and then taught before moving out to Los Angeles. Visit their website and see what is being offered. It looks like you like in the UK, and I’m sure you can find training for your abilities if you choose to do so there as well. If you want to make them real, look for a grounded training.

Again, thanks for reading and for your comment, Leah.
      Warm regards to you,
