A meditation on peace

Peace is an energy, a vibration, a consciousness, and also a choice.

One can choose to vibrate at the energy of peace. When you are in this vibration and bring it into yourself, set your internal thermostat at the temperature of peace, you become healing to be around. If you are working from a peace consciousness, it’s easier to see yourself, your life, and others, more clearly.

Conscious peace gives you more space for yourself, more energy to work with. If you are running peaceful thoughts and energy through your body, it will feel peaceful too. Your body will communicate this to you by feeling happy, energized, and well. If you the spirit decide to be at peace, your body benefits. A win-win for everyone!

A commitment to peace in a time of war goes far towards healing, forgiveness, letting go of the need to “win”. If your energy is caught up in trying to prove something to others, or to control an outcome or be right, you are not going to be at peace. You are also giving up your true power to the battle. What if you no longer need to fight?

We live on a planet where doing is more valued than being. In other words, matter is seen as being more real, important, and powerful than the energy of spirit. This creates a disconnect between body and spirit. If you never take the time to sit still and get to know your own spirit, it will be difficult to be at peace. Though you might validate the body as being more real than spirit, it is true that when your spirit is at peace, your body can also be.

It helps to listen to your body and give to it what it needs in order to feel well. All healing comes from within, all healing is self healing. If you are running on a peaceful energy, rather than stress, anxiety, struggle, pain, or another uncomfortable vibration, you will heal. You have the power to do this, and you may just have forgotten that you do.

Here’s a simple meditation that may help you to reset the energy within yourself to a more peaceful vibration:

Sit in a comfortable seat, one that allows you to sit up with your feet flat on the floor. Close your eyes, and allow your focus to be fully on yourself. Notice all of you, with love, kindness, and complete acceptance. Just allow yourself to be as you are. When other thoughts come in to drag your focus away from yourself, gently bring your focus back to you.

Notice your body, and say hello to it. Allow it to be just as it is. Your body is already perfect. Send love and peaceful energy to your body. Thank it for all that it does for you. Even doing this everyday will go far to creating an atmosphere of peace within you. If you end the war with your body, you can heal.

Imagine yourself rooted deep into the earth, from your lower body, where your first chakra is. As you ground yourself to the earth, keep breathing and begin releasing any energy from within yourself that doesn’t feel peaceful. It can be anyplace inside of you, it can be emotions that don’t feel peaceful, pain in the body, fatigue and tiredness. Don’t solve it, and don’t judge it. Just keep releasing the non-peaceful energy to the earth. The earth will neutralize it, in other words, clear the negative charge out.

Ask your body what it wants to release, and listen to it. The energies you’ve taken on affect your body enormously, so it’s good to listen to what your body wants. Getting into this practice will allow you to be at peace.

Continue to release any energy of non-peace. Let it go from your feet, legs, torso, arms, hands, neck, head. Release it from your heart, lungs, stomach, brain, and so on. Just let it go, don’t stop, and don’t solve.

Notice how you feel when you do this. Decide to be at peace within yourself. Finish by replenishing yourself with your very own energy. Imagine a beautiful gold sun above you, that is the source of your very own vibration. Fill yourself in with this energy, imagine you coming back to yourself again.

If you practice this meditation regularly, you will be able to create a conscious peace within yourself. Notice what changes in your life when you do this.

If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that’s his problem. Love and peace are eternal.
