Imagine your way into 2012

What is your Big Dream for 2012?

How does your dream look to you? What do you see is possible for you to have, create, and become this year? Where do you want to grow? What are you willing to let go of?

As you move into the new year, it’s helpful to notice if you are still carrying energy from the old one. Any old out of date energies can get in your way as you step up to create your new creations.

2011 was an amazing year for each of us. As challenging as it may have been, it was just as necessary. 2011 is a year to be grateful for, though it might not have felt comfortable to you in the least. It may have been the year you moved past blocks to your own truth, and that is priceless.

2011 was all about spiritual growth, and a big part of growing spiritually is letting go of what no longer serves you in that growth. It’s common to have an unconscious perfect picture about how growth “should” be. Who knew that spiritual growth could be so difficult and uncontrollably messy?!

A new year is an awakening, a time for new energy and dreams. It’s fun to create the new pictures of what you want. It’s lovely to dream big dreams, to visualize and imagine huge successes, fun times, happy relationships, financial health. This is also the way you make these things real in your life – your dreams come true.

Making anything real begins with the spirit of you. When you can see what it is you want, and imagine yourself having those things in your life, you can make them real. Everything you create begins with energy, spirit. When you become conscious about working with energy and begin to use it to heal yourself and make your life work for you instead of feeling like you’re constantly in effort, miracles happen.

As you begin this journey into a new year, you may want to consider bringing some new tools with you:

  • Permission to dream big. Don’t hold back or let your dreams be made smaller by the prevailing wisdom of what is “possible”. Every time someone tried to do the impossible and make it possible, they had ‘helpful’ naysayers who constantly tried to convince them it was a waste of time. Ignore everyone else’s ‘reality’ and concentrate on yours.
  • A way to make it real. Dreaming is good but if your dreams never come down to earth, if you can’t make them real, then it’s no fun to dream. Grounding yourself is a great way to begin making your own vision a reality.
  • How much are you willing to let go of? It’s difficult to create your new reality while also trying to drag the past with you. When you can let go, forgive, and be in present time with yourself, you have more of your energy available to create with. In order to create anything, you need enough energy and space to do so.

You are the only one who can imagine what you’ll imagine. What you dream of, others may share, but you’ll always have your own spin on it, if you’re working from your own truth. What this means is that nobody else can create what you came here to create. Only you can decide to get started.

The most valuable gifts are those you can’t buy

The most sought after and precious gifts you can give won’t cost you a dime.

You can’t order them online, or wait in line for hours to buy them. But they are available to give freely, anytime you want to do so. One size fits all, and no matter who you give these gifts to, they are a good fit. There’s no worries about gift receipts, returns, or guessing whether your gift will be the right one.

And what’s even better – when you give one of these to someone else, you give the same to yourself.

Here’s a list of gifts that are sure to fit everyone on your list, for any occasion, at any time of year.

1. Non-judgment  ~  When you give the gift of non-judgment, you give one of the greatest presents ever. Once you decide to stop being in judgment, and allow others to be who they are and where they’re at, you take a load away from both them and yourself. Judgment as an energy is heavy, cold, stubborn, unyielding. Once you stop playing the judgment game, you can lighten up, instantly. Fears drop away, life is a happier place. If the person you’ve been judging most harshly is yourself, give yourself the gift of letting go of self criticism, and replace it with self love. You are then giving two gifts in one! By loving yourself, you become a gift for others, without lifting a finger. A person who accepts and loves himself or herself is a joy to be around.

2. Forgiveness  ~  When you forgive yourself, you no longer hold yourself back from your own life. By forgiving someone else, you give both them and yourself a supreme gift. You make it possible for real healing to happen, even if that person is no longer alive. Carrying the energy of forgiveness can help you to release dark heavy unhappy energies from your spirit. When you forgive someone for anything, you take your own power back. You cease being a victim. You become a beautiful example of the healing power of forgiveness. Highly recommended: watch the documentary Forgiving Dr. Mengele’ for a true life example of the healing power of forgiveness.

3. Gratitude  ~  By now the healing properties attributed to having an ‘attitude of gratitude’ are well known. It feels good to feel grateful – it’s a feeling you can feel throughout your whole spirit and body. But did you also know that when you carry this vibration with you, you become the healing for others? You do this without having to think about it, or to give your healing energy away to all those you come into contact with. You become a healing even for those you don’t know, when you’ve set your own energy at Gratitude.

4. A Positive Attitude  ~  When you choose to walk through life with a positive view, you are also embracing energies like amusement, peace, joy, and happiness. You’ve become skilled at letting go of small things that really do not matter. You are also working from a bigger picture, spiritually speaking. All who come into contact with you will benefit from being in your presence, even if it doesn’t seem like they can have the same positivity. In fact, some people may get downright ornery when you’re positive! This is where that amusement comes in handy. Keep your eyes on the prize, as the saying goes. What you prize, whatever you focus on, is where you’ll have more power to create. Having a positive view of life contributes dramatically to your overall health and well being.

These green gift ideas don’t use up resources from the planet, and leave a very low carbon footprint. In fact, they bring healing wherever they are given. When you give one of them to another person, that person is very likely going to re-gift what you gave, while also keeping it. In an exceptionally short time, your gift can double, triple, and continue to grow until it spreads like wildfire. You create real change in the world when you become conscious of the energies you allow to run through you. You become the gift.

Have a beautiful holiday! I have a gift for you: a free guided meditation called ‘A Meditation On Becoming Peace’. Find it at this page on my website: Peace Meditation. Enjoy!

Do you have to choose between freedom and approval?

Are you torn between choosing to have what you want, and needing to have others approve of you?

When you don’t have the freedom to choose to create or have what you truly want, you might be giving up your space to fears that others won’t like you if you do the things you really want to do.

If you’re afraid you’ll anger someone or hurt their feelings if you change, you are allowing your need for their approval to control you. You cannot blame somebody else for this. It’s within your power to change it, not theirs.

If you’ve allowed others to have power over you, that again isn’t their problem to solve. It’s yours. If you need others to approve of you living your life the way you see fit, and if you won’t make a move without their permission, you have nobody else to blame when you don’t get what you want.

You don’t have to make your life a democracy in which everyone else gets a vote on what can happen in your life. You may have been trying to be very nice, and to not create conflicts with others who think they know exactly who you are and what you should do. So, to keep the peace, you hold back, waiting for others to sign on to the idea of you having your own life. Perhaps you spend a lot of your energy helping them out, and they just don’t know what they would do without you! You end up feeling guilty at the thought of not being there for everyone else, and your life becomes all about keeping it together for them.

Meanwhile, what you see is possible for you, and the things you want in your life, don’t go away. You have a conflict in your space between what you think you should do, and what you really want to do.

A good dose of truth within yourself will go far in helping you to change the patterns of not making your life your own. By becoming honest with yourself, you can see yourself and your dreams more clearly. If you have no support for your dreams in your personal world, and are expected to give your energy away so that others can achieve theirs, maybe you want to change that.

If you decide that approving of yourself and being happy with who you are mean more to you than winning any popularity contests, you’re well on the way to creating your life from a place of inner freedom. This is your true job in this lifetime.

Which pictures do you invest your energy in?

How do you see yourself?

Did you know that you put your energy into the pictures you create of yourself and what it’s possible for you to have?

Where you put your energy is where you are, as a being. Where you put your energy is where you create.

So which of your creations would you rather see become real: the happy positive pictures, or the unhappy negative ones?

Don’t go pulling the ‘reality’ card out of your hat. Reality is also what you create. Again, where you put your energy is where you are, as a being. This is where you create. If your energy is in a picture of something you really do want, you’re more likely to get it than if your energy is caught in a victim picture, or helpless picture, or something else that doesn’t quite do you justice.

We all choose pictures to live and work by. Beginning from the time you were very small, you adopted pictures as your own, or created new ones. You might have admired the way the cheerleaders looked on the sidelines at a game, and perhaps you created a picture of yourself as one of them. You could see yourself doing what they were doing. Perhaps you were inspired by the way a rock guitarist played his or her guitar, and you created a picture of yourself someday doing the same.

It takes work to make your pictures real. If you see yourself as a musician, it also takes you showing up every day as the musician, practicing, studying, and so on. By investing your energy into this picture, you make it possible to create it. The pictures that you create for yourself determine what you can achieve in your life.

It also takes energy to create a picture that it’s not possible to have what you want.

For example, if you were given a picture as a child that you were clumsy, and you adopted this picture as being the truth, then you invested your energy into it, giving it more power as you grew up. If you saw yourself as clumsy, you might have limited what you could do or have, choosing to instead believe that you were too clumsy to dance, or be a cheerleader, or play baseball. By seeing yourself as clumsy, you may have become so as a result.

Then again, what if you decided to overcome the clumsy picture, pull your energy out of it, and instead invest your energy in a different picture? Perhaps one in which you could be seen in a more attractive light, a kinder light? If you saw yourself as becoming graceful, and being capable of becoming more sure footed, you might have worked to become this. by doing so, you gave yourself permission to become graceful. It began with your picture.

Do your pictures of your life include you being in a happy relationship, doing work that you love and which fulfills you? Even if your present reality doesn’t match to the picture of what you’d like to have, it helps to begin with a picture of what it is you want. This is where you want to be very honest with yourself about what you do want, and don’t want. It also helps to get the local Eyeores out of your way.

To create what it is you want takes a vision, faith, trust, and work. Honesty is also a requirement. You might have to move the old past time pictures you have of yourself out of your way first. Get into present time with who you are, what you want and need. Then go for it. Create those new pictures. Let nobody else throw a ‘can’t’ or ‘impossible’ at your pictures. These are yours, and nothing, really, is impossible if you are working from your own truth.

Creating new pictures to live by

You might say that each of us is a camera.

The images you carry with you about your body, health, relationships, career, money, power, talents, value – are pictures you captured yourself, often unconsciously. Some of them were given to you – pictures about culture, society, religion, class, race, gender, are found in every nook and cranny in your daily life.

A picture says considerably more than words can, and does so instantly. Captured in one image are the emotions, challenges, fears, joy, and possibilities inherently present in a situation. A picture has great power.

You put your energy into the pictures you have. Where you focus is where you create. If you’re focusing on a positive self image picture, it will have a different effect on your life than if you focus on a negative one. What you create and your experience of it will change, as you are beginning from a different place.

Taking responsibility for your growth means taking a look at the pictures you’ve agreed to live by. Since you’re constantly living from pictures, it’s helpful to become conscious of which pictures determine what you’re able to create and have. How you see yourself and the world determines what you can create here.

We’re living in a time of clairvoyance. Everything is about seeing and being seen, creating new pictures to live by. What you see, you can create. If you can imagine the possibilities that can exist, even if they seem a long way off, you can create them.

Possibly you’ll find that the old pictures you’ve had, are no longer working. You might need to ask some deep, tough questions about whose pictures have been running your life, and then make choices about whether to keep them or make up your own. It gets messy when you do this, so be sure to give yourself permission to destroy what’s not working. If you want to have your own Renaissance, it’s up to you to get it going.

‘Renaissance’ is a French word meaning “rebirth”, which about sums up where we’re at right now. This time in our evolution on this planet is about renewing, becoming conscious, releasing the old, and creating new pictures to live by.

Between 1300 and 1600 the Western world was transformed. An extraordinary wave of artistic and cultural innovation shattered medieval society and brought European culture reluctantly into the modern era. This was the Renaissance. ~Medici

What happened during that Renaissance? People began looking outside to the world around them. No longer content to just accept the teachings of the Church, they began to explore for themselves, to expand human knowledge. The arts flourished; artists made incredible discoveries during this time. So did science and medicine, with earth shattering discoveries about the human body, the planet, the solar system. A new kind of freedom ruled, possibilities increased. So did upheavals; plagues, war, the burning of heretics.

Apparently this is how we humans have chosen to evolve. Lots of resistance to new ideas, over and over again. Fear and hatred of the new, the outsiders, those who are ‘not like us’. People with different names than us. Sound familiar?

The 21st Century Renaissance brings a different kind of evolution. It is the time to go within, to make great discoveries about the worlds within ourselves. When humans begin to gain greater command over their inner worlds, the outer world will change dramatically. This new Renaissance brings with it the opportunity to heal from the inside out, complete with dramatic changes in the arts, spiritual practices, scientific discoveries, human relationships, value systems, and too much more to name, as a result. People will begin to validate and use their psychic abilities for themselves.

What if, by doing all of this within, we can each help to create a world where peace, love, and a healthy planet are what’s real? This is a splendid new picture to live by.

The visionaries get to create the future

Everything begins with energy. An idea is energy, as is a vision. A strong image is a powerful thing. If you don’t believe me, go ask the advertising industry.

If you’re interested in influencing and changing the way people see things, and how they’ll act as a result, you’ll need a compelling vision or image to show them. People respond to imagery, and often do so unconsciously, emotionally, or instinctively.

You might have an original idea, a vision you are committed to, whether it’s your art, business, or a service you offer. Perhaps your vision is a new way to teach, heal, create peace on earth, or inspire people to think and behave differently. Maybe you have a vision for the future that isn’t a reality yet but you know it could be. You feel it deeply, and you have a passion for this vision. You are the only one who can bring your original vision to the world, so keep at it.

Some people are so inspired by the greatness of a true visionary that they work from this person’s vision, and find their own truth within it. This is a brilliant way that we influence and help each other continue to move forward. So again, if you have a vision of healing, peace, and love, we all need you to bring it forward.

I am a clairvoyant, and it’s my job to see energy, to read spirit. I see that every human being has free will and the power to create the future. This is far more interesting than making predictions, in my book. It’s also what we already do, as human beings – we create. We are evolving constantly, because we change, create, and grow.

You also have the ability to visualize, and to create what you see. So, with all this power to visualize, why not use it to actually create change? It’s up to each of us to do so – instead of waiting for others to step forward, why not you?

I would like to suggest that, beginning now, today, you start to create your new vision. Every second you spend seeing what you’d like to become, do, and have, is valuable. Imagine life as you’d like to live it. Imagine the world you want to live in. Be ready to change your own attitudes, as well as yourself. Change of any kind always begins with the spirit, it begins within.

No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars or sailed an uncharted land, or opened a new doorway for the human spirit. ~Helen Keller

Flexibility, consciousness, and letting go

These are influential energies to live by for the 21st century.

Simplicity is another one that comes into my life effortlessly once I’ve let go, allowing myself to become more Flexible and Conscious as a result. Fluidity is the new wave here, as in go with the flow.

Resistance and Rigidity are leaving town for an extended vacation. I’m sending them on a cruise, and believe me they’ll never look the same again.

I plan to invite Effortless over more often, just for tea and a nice talk. Maybe than Play can come with, and we can all have a nice time together, Inventing. Which happens without trying hard at all, once Play is here. It is time to tell Negativity to find somewhere else to live. I think I’ll let Amusement do that. Once Amusement arrives, the whole party changes!

I’ve asked Prosperity to set the tone from now on. Gratitude and Abundance can help, they always throw the best parties. I’m thinking that we need to redecorate in here, and Happiness has some great ideas about that. That sets the stage for Change, Growth, and Transformation to arrive, yet again. They love to make grand entrances. And, after all that partying, it’s great to get some Space, maybe take a nice long Nap.

I am so Fortunate, and maybe even a little bit Silly, but I really do have some great friends, and I Value them everyday.

My new American Dream has room for everyone

There is a big rescue effort underway now in the United States to bring back the American Dream and save that endangered species known as the middle class.

According to sources, this species has been under attack since approximately 1980, and is in danger of becoming extinct.

The middle class has apparently had its version of the American Dream stomped on and severely damaged by strong opponents. The attacks continue to this day, and the Middle Class is fighting for its life.

A note to the Middle Class in America: It is never an easy thing to go through such big growing pains. Life has changed very radically for you in such a short time. When you were just a generation or so into your evolution, you created an idea, a Dream that every generation would achieve and have More than the previous one did. It became very important to show that you had what it took, including all of the accompanying Stuff.

Somehow along the way, paying homage to that Dream may have gotten you off course a bit. All of that unconscious conspicuous consumption hasn’t really paid off in ways you can take to the bank right now, unfortunately. Interestingly, consumption, or tuberculosis, is a disease in which the body wastes away. How different is that from the over-consumption of the earth’s resources that has wasted away so much irreplaceable natural wealth and beauty?

On top of all of this, we are reminded that  Democracy is an all-in process. It’s  not somebody else’s job: it’s yours, and mine. A healthy democracy needs our attention in order to stay healthy. The environment is screaming for our attention, expensive and unnecessary wars are eating up the resources we need to keep our citizens educated, healthy, and truly safe, and we need campaign finance reform NOW. Along with so many other issues. Where to begin to heal this mess?

These are soul searching times, times in which new Dreams can be dreamed, and new visions created. I have been dreaming my own new American Dream, and I’d like to share it with you now. Let me know what you think, and maybe we can create something new and beautiful together.

Here’s how my American Dream looks: Multi Colored! International! All languages and races and religions and genders are welcome, in peace. Everyone has a voice in my dream, and it is the job of each of us to welcome every other one of us into the dream, no matter where we come from. In my dream, there is no hatred or judgment of anyone who is different. We live together in acceptance and peace.

One way that we got sucked into where we are now is that we forgot about Love. Or maybe we’re still learning? We forgot about the intelligence of the earth. We forgot to trust our own instincts and the wisdom of our own bodies, and began looking outside of ourselves to ‘designated experts’ for our answers, to religious, military, and political leaders, medical and scientific experts. We decided that we needed some Big Daddy to care for us, and make sure we were okay. It was easier to let somebody else be responsible for everything.

So if we go back to The Way We Were, and forget that we are creating a new world, we will stay stuck. If we are fighting this fight to go back to the way it all was, we won’t get anywhere worth going to. If we continue to insist on having ‘One of your own kind! Stick to your own kind!’ as our theme song, we. will. get. stuck. again. The old ways are gone – long live the old ways! What do we want to create now?

In my new dream, we can no longer afford the following:

Racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism, hatred, greed, intolerance of other’s views. Unconscious conspicuous consumption is so 20th century. We need to wean ourselves away from oil consumption, crappy food, pesticides and chemicals. Corporations are not people. If you’ve been busy complaining about how hard things are instead of making a difference, now’s your chance.

It’s time to visualize a new world. Begin with yourself: how do you see you in this new world? What do you want to give, what is your truth, what do you have passion for doing or becoming? Maybe it’s time to go there, and fearlessly go for it. There is nothing to lose if you are in your own truth. You are needed in this new American Dream. There is no other you. Does this sound like your dream?

Social change is a consciousness issue

The personal is political, is spiritual. Before anything comes into being, it is spirit, energy.

It may begin with a wish, a new picture for a better way of living. Perhaps there is a deep desire to let go of the status quo, because it simply doesn’t work anymore. It’s time to get out of the way – here comes the future. It’s evolution, baby!

Revolution comes from within. Before any change is created in the outer world, (see ‘Egypt’, ‘Libya’, ‘Wisconsin’…. and many more), it first of all begins within. True revolution is not imposed on us from some force ‘out there’. We create it; when we are ready for new growth and change, it comes easily. If there is resistance to change, or controls in the way of change happening, it will happen anyway, but less peacefully.

As we’ve seen throughout human history, when people no longer put up with despotic rulers, lies, and greedy motives, revolution happens. Young people in particular, seeing themselves as having less to lose and being less entrenched in their self images, stuff, bills, etc… are often the ones to stand up and demand change.

From Wikipedia: A revolution (from the Latin revolutio, “a turn around”) is a fundamental change in power or organizational structures that takes place in a relatively short period of time.

People become accustomed to what they know, to the status quo. Art, music, and fashion don’t do this; the marketplace can’t survive long on old ideas. Why then should we continue to live under old ways of doing things, when it is obvious that they no longer serve us? It is difficult to live up to our true potential as human beings while living in a climate of fear and hatred. Did that, check!

It’s time to move on to what is present time. How about a nice big serving of social justice for starters?

Get enough folks together who are done with war, and there will be no more war. We’ll spend all of that money on education, health, art, and making peace instead. Gather enough of us who want to live sustainably and in peace, and it will happen. When a large number of people wake up and decide that it’s time to value what really has value, like a healthy earth, peaceful human relationships, and being able to live happy lives, that will all be created, by us.

Most interesting of all is the spiritual evolution that arises and helps to bring on the revolutions human beings create and experience. When you’ve reached your saturation point, when you’re through buying into the unconsciousness and lies that have been ruling over you, you are in the midst of your own personal revolution.

One person living from his or her truth

One person who chooses to live in truth, gives the world a priceless gift. When one person has the courage to do this, others are encouraged to do the same.

When one person looks fear in the face and walks forward anyway, others find they also have the will to take a step forward.

Each of us has our own truth to find. There are also universal truths, including love, peace, freedom, compassion, understanding, and forgiveness, to name a few.

By speaking from his own truth, Martin Luther King was able to inspire each of us to find ours. He saw the possibilities of what we could create together, if we really wanted to do so, and that together we are powerful. We may think of ourselves as being weak and incapable of making a big difference, so too often we don’t try. Actually, we are frightened of what could happen if we were to step forward and speak out, be seen.

The power of Dr. King’s spirit and words frightened those who would not have change, healing, and peace on earth between all human beings. If we were to rise up and free ourselves, those darker forces ruling over us would be driven away.

It is when we choose to dispel that inner darkness, to make our own light the priority, that we are able to create a new world that is ruled by peace and love, not war, hate, and profits for the few at the expense of the many. It is only by learning to love and accept each other that we can forge a new path, individually and together.

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” ~Martin Luther King, Jr.
