Say yes! to Peace in 2012

I’ve often said that I don’t predict the future because I find it pointless to do so. We are each able to take part in the creating of our future, individually and together, by becoming conscious and making our choices accordingly.

As 2011 wraps up its final moments, here are some important energies I see as 2012 moves into view. Happy New Year to you!

1. Peace – We are all improvisers in the art of life. The first rule of improvisation is to say ‘yes, and’. In 2012, it will become even more important that we consciously say yes to peace, to cultivating peace, and to having a peace consciousness. It’s obvious that war is extremely profitable for some. Let’s show that peace is an even more valuable commodity for all the rest of us here on earth. What do we gain from peace? Priceless things, like getting to know each other better, and creating a new happier healthier world together, to start. Peace will be one of the biggest energies to become aware of in 2012. It all begins within each of us.

2. Community – As 2011 showed the world, we are stronger when we cooperate together. Working together, people can create massive social change, without lobbyists,  expensive advertising agencies, or violence. All it takes is waking up and seeing clearly, which was another gift 2011 gave to us. After we begin to see each other in a new way, we can work to create what we do want here on earth.

3. Truth – By now it should be obvious that nobody is going to get away with telling lies anymore, at least not for long. The truth is coming out faster than ever, and truths thought long buried are surfacing. This is true not only on a global level, but deep within each of us as well. If you’ve been lying to yourself, even unconsciously so, that energy no doubt surfaced in the past year or two. Now is the time to move ahead with your own truth. Your truth includes being able to listen to and follow your own heart, which is going to be even more important in 2012.

4. Creativity – ‘Necessity is the mother of invention’ is how the old saying goes. Creativity will become even more valuable in 2012 as we are called on to recreate our world. Those who can visualize and imagine will be at the forefront of the new creations. The new pictures are already here, with many more on the way. Creativity includes every other energy on this list. If you’ve been unable to validate your own creativity, now is the time to learn how to do so.

5. MeditationMeditation is a tool that pays off in very big ways, even when you only have a few minutes a day to practice it. You can take it with you anywhere you go, it needs no special equipment, and helps you to learn things you can’t learn anywhere else. It’s well worth taking the time to learn how to meditate, because then you have it for life. Your health, emotions, sense of peace and well being, and body will all benefit from this practice. Find out about my meditation classes and recordings here.

6. Clairvoyance – Clairvoyance was at the top of my list for 2011, and continues to rise in importance as we human beings evolve. The ‘art of seeing clearly’ is what clairvoyance is all about. And if you are able to see yourself clearly, so much the better. You can read much more about this very human spiritual ability in the many posts on this blog about clairvoyance and being psychic.

7. Letting go – Traveling lightly, dropping your burdens, not needing to carry a load of stuff with you as you move forward in your life. What is it you insist upon carrying that makes it difficult for you to step ahead into your life as you want to live it? Though the years 2009-2011 helped us all to let go of much, there’ll be more of that in 2012. Whether it’s a way of living, an old belief or picture you have of yourself that’s not accurate, or a grudge you’ve held onto tightly, it’s all in the letting go that healing happens.

8. Self Healing – Though it seems strange to say so, one of the biggest healings we’ve had in the U.S. has been our decaying and horrid health care system, complete with the rampant greed of the insurance and pharmaceutical industries. ‘Better living through chemicals’ isn’t, and being without insurance has driven many people to the edge of despair, especially when they or a loved one became ill with a serious illness. Through all of this terrible pain and destruction, people have begun waking up to the power they have within to heal, and to the many modalities available to do just that. From the common sense approach to using food as medicine and prevention, which the AMA and other so called ‘authorities’ refuse to even consider as viable, to other alternative ways to create healing – a new way of healing is being born. Look for much more of this in 2012.

9. Love – All you need is love. Love becomes a way of living, healing, creating, growing, transforming our lives, if we only give it the space to exist and grow.

10. Consciousness – The grounding for all of the rest of what it is possible to make real is becoming conscious. Becoming conscious takes courage, and a willingness to see, hear, and know. Many times when unconsciousness rules the day, we create events in order to wake up. Some of these happenings or events may not be comfortable, but they certainly do serve the purpose of waking us up. Deciding to be conscious is a lot more fun, and a lot easier than allowing oneself to be shaken awake. Why not make consciousness one of your key words for 2012?

May 2012 be a beautiful year for you!

This is the post I wrote exactly one year ago today about 2011: ‘Clairvoyance tops the list for 2011’.

When you speak the language of energy

Energy is a language you were born knowing how to speak. This is a language we all know, though each of us might  have a different way of understanding what it means. Each person has a unique perspective and experience.

I may have a different way of feeling, seeing, or knowing energy than you. It’s pointless to try to prove energy to anyone else, because of this uniqueness. Trying to prove energy to someone is like trying to prove what you feel. Your feelings are your experience, and while you can communicate them, you can’t expect others to completely understand your experience of feeling. They have their own experience, which you may not completely understand.

You were born already equipped to speak the language of energy, because you are energy. Your body is made of energy. You as a being are energy, spirit.

As an energy, there is just one of you; you are unique in all of creation. This is why it’s important for you to know yourself: the rest of us need you to be you, because nobody else can replace you. When you find the truth of who you are, you heal yourself and become a healing for others, just by being. It becomes easier for you to create your creations, and live your life.

If you think there’s something wrong with you or with your energy, you can go through life feeling flawed, as if you’re missing something. When things in your life don’t go the way you’d like them to, it can be easy to blame yourself and think your energy is bad or wrong. Another word for this is ‘invalidation’. If you think you or your energy are wrong, you are invalidated. You’ve forgotten that you have value.

It is when you have your own energy within yourself, and when you can begin to get more of your energy back again, that you start to become validated again. There is nothing wrong with your own energy, but if you are walking around holding onto all kinds of energies you picked up from other people and events, it’s more difficult to have enough of your own energy to do what it is you want to do. You forget your own value, or don’t get to know it, when you become a storehouse for energies that aren’t yours. It can feel like you’re carrying a burden around with you. All of the energy that isn’t you affects your body. When you take on other energies, they affect your body’s energy and health.

So, how do you change this? How do you begin to learn who you are, and to know your own energy? How do you get validated?

Getting to know yourself begins with you taking the time to go within yourself, and to begin to communicate with yourself, in order to learn more about what is true for you, who you are, and what you honestly want for your life. Meditation is a valuable tool you can use to become more aware of who you really are. Grounded meditation will help you to change your energy, and change your life. When you take the time to get to know the most important person in your life better – yourself – you make brilliant and lasting changes. It’s worth it!

Amusement is a powerful energy

As a vibration of spiritual energy, amusement ranks high as one of the most valuable, powerful, and healing energies you can work with.

Contrary to popular belief, being in touch with your spirit does not require you to be serious, as in ‘not amused’. Actually, the opposite is true. When you begin to find amusement with yourself and your life, as well as other people, you are getting somewhere. Seriously.

As a spiritual energy, here’s what amusement gives to you; your body likes this energy, so it makes it easier for your body to feel good. You can even find your amusement with having a body. Emotionally, amusement is a far easier energy to be in than stress, pain or drama. It is very difficult for outside forces to control you when you are amused. Challenges can seem a bit easier if you can find your amusement with them. The bigger picture is more evident, perspective has been regained.

Especially, and this cannot be stressed enough, though not at all seriously… especially if you are in resistance to someone or something, you can free yourself with a simple dose of amusement. When you are able to laugh at the ridiculousness of any situation you are “in to win”, any battle you’ve sunk your teeth into and are having a hard time releasing yourself from, anywhere you know you’ve been ‘gotten’ by someone who is throwing a game on the table and it’s not yours: you have found your amusement, and suddenly you can see more clearly.

You might want to get started on your own amusement portfolio today. A good place to start is to find out: what makes you laugh out loud? What gives you joy, makes you happy, helps you get away from the prevailing miserable wisdom? What helps you to stay in your body, remember why life is good, find your gratitude for being alive?

Laughter is healing, and a smile does wonders for your health, relationships, looks, AND personality. If you don’t believe me, ask the people who you are around all day long.

The energy of freedom

How do you see your relationship with freedom?

You might see freedom as a way of living life, a goal, an outcome, an entitlement, patriotism, or even impossible.

Freedom happens on different fronts: financially, physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, in relationships, at work, while traveling, when alone. You have different levels of freedom in different areas of your life.

Depending on where you are right now in your life, you may feel free, or not. Guidelines for your level of freedom might be laid out for you by others in your group and your culture. Depending on whether you are male or female, young, old, married or single, straight or gay, educated, wealthy or not – your level of freedom changes, at least according to the prevailing wisdom around you. This is where judgment comes into play, and once judgement enters the picture, freedom diminishes.

Freedom can manifest in your life in many different ways.

Freedom, and how you see yourself in relation to it, comes out of your consciousness, your awareness. Freedom is not anarchy. You may feel entrapped by any number of situations in your life; whether you have any control over them is another thing to consider. Move away from anything or anyone who appears to keep you from feeling free, and your view changes. If you move the energy out of you, ie: let go of any energy that you’ve allowed to keep you enslaved, you gain freedom. It’s not about those out there doing it to you, it’s how you decide to have your own space regardless.

If you decide to free yourself from where you’ve allowed yourself to become enslaved, don’t blame others. Every challenge you’ve faced has only helped you to get stronger, to learn more about yourself, to move deeper into your own spirit. Once freed, you will have a new view of life and yourself. It isn’t anyone else’s responsibility to do this for you, though others can certainly help. We all help free each other through our words, acts, and creations, through sharing, a kind hello. Still, it is up to each one to do the actual work. If you want to gain freedom for yourself, you can.

The instinct of nearly all societies is to lock up anybody who is truly free. First, society begins by trying to beat you up. If this fails, they try to poison you. If this fails too, they finish by loading honors on your head. – Jean Cocteau (1889-1963)

Building a world begins with a picture

You can build an entire world around a picture. That’s how your own world was built.

You create pictures everyday. From the time of your birth – and long before then – you worked from pictures. Your body has pictures of how it needs to function, your emotions and feelings include many pictures. You are constantly being reminded, through pictures, of what is ‘real’, and what you should do, be, think, feel, or buy.

Life is a visual experience, even if we refuse to see. There are pictures everywhere –  inside of us and out.

You came to this lifetime with pictures of what you wanted, who you’d be with, and what you’d get to experience. If you have a sense of missing out on something in life, it may be because you aren’t having what you came here knowing you wanted to have. You could be living a life that popular wisdom says is successful, while knowing inside that you really want something else. If so, you’re living in a picture that’s not yours to begin with, one that you invested your energy, and yourself, into. You’re living a life that’s not your own.

Every new picture can lead to a new creation. Put enough energy into a picture, build on top of it, and soon you have a new reality, created from that picture. Create your own pictures, consciously, and soon you have a life you want to be living, instead of one that doesn’t feel like it’s really yours.

All you need to do is give yourself permission; the trick is to make sure that the pictures you are creating your life from, are pictures that are true for you. If you try living your life based on someone else’s view of how it should look, you might always feel like something is missing. The something that’s missing could be your own energy. When you become conscious about which pictures you are living by, it’s easier to step out of the ones that do not serve you, and may even harm you.

For example, take the well known picture, “Iraq has weapons of mass destruction”. Sound familiar? That’s how the U.S. signed onto a war in Iraq, on the basis of a picture that turned out to be a lie purposely created in order to get everyone to sign onto the Iraq war. Which we’re still not out of, even though the lie has come out.

Imagine the world we would live in now, if we had decided it wasn’t worth getting into another costly needless war, and that perhaps it would make more sense to put the money into education, infrastructure, and health care in this country instead. That’s a very different picture to live by. Apparently enough of us were in agreement that there should be a war, but the picture that we wouldn’t be safe unless we went to Iraq, was needed to take us there. Enough of us chose to believe that picture to make the lie our reality.

The picture underneath all of this is that “it’s us against them”. “They” are all of those people whose language and religion and customs we don’t understand, so they are suspect. “They” are not like us, so we have the right to go destroy their country and kill their people. And so from a picture, we have created a world that is even less safe than the one we lived in before we began this war.

Every picture you create or sign onto in your own life, can create a world that you live in. What is happening now is that many people are finding their carefully built worlds falling apart, crumbling at the seams, turning to dust. It’s a rough and tumble time for many right now. The old pictures are going away. We have a magnificent opportunity to create an entirely different way of living. Another word for this is ‘evolution’.

A suggestion: take some time this week to look at the pictures you’d like to see become real in your own world. Give yourself permission to create new pictures that you would like to live in, and that feel true for you.

Seeing clearly

This is a guest post from Connie Rose

“The greatest clairvoyant ability is the ability to see yourself, and the greatest psychic ability is the ability to know yourself.” These opening words are from Kris Cahill, who asked me to write this guest post on “seeing clearly.”

When events conspire to bring us to a decision to change some aspect of ourselves from the inside out, often we feel faced with just one more thing to add to the list of stuff to do in an effort to “do less and be more.” How ironic this is. The busier we are, the more difficult it seems to just stop and spend time with ourselves. Like, how do we find time to do that?

How we imagine ourselves, what we allow ourselves to know about ourselves, correlate with how we’ve created our lives on the physical plane. We have an idea about who we think we are or who we want to be, and then our creative selves flesh it out, we manifest that idea and create a lifestyle around it. The inner idea of you and the outer experience of you hold your personal gestalt together.

But in order to create fundamental changes in how we see ourselves, in what we know to be our personal truths, in how we “do” our lives — it may be necessary for us to be willing to let go of many, most or even all that we think we hold dear. If we don’t surrender to letting go of time-worn ways of being, to moving the old stuff out, there’s simply no room for anything new to come into our experience. There’s no way we can even imagine life being any different because we’ve become locked into trying to live a life that might have worked at some earlier point but doesn’t anymore. And we’re stuck.

Examine all those self-created structures that have defined you until now. Big change could mean divorce or separation from a partner, moving to a much smaller home and/or relocating, a shift in the work you do or how or even if you work, getting rid of every single thing that’s extraneous to the life you really want and need to be living now, giving up addictions to substances or shopping or media, letting go of stale relationships and people who no longer bring you joy. If it feels like time for you to make big changes and you’re clueless where to begin, you could start by methodically going through every single thing you own and committing to sell or freecycle anything that smacks of holding on to the past. Where you’re headed, you simply won’t need it.

For the last six months I’ve been at the tail end of a 5-year major life change, a downsize of probably 80 percent from the way my life used to be, in every aspect. The short story is that I had been holding on to a lifestyle that was no longer who I was becoming and probably never had been, I couldn’t afford it financially or psychically but wasn’t able to see that while I was still striving to succeed at it. The years of energy I’d put into various attempts to support this false lifestyle turned to naught. Absolutely nothing was working. It seemed as though I had no choice, then, but to let go.

Fast forward five years and everything is different ~ where and how I live, how much stuff I own, when and how I work, what I drive, the art I make, how I spend my time. It’s all working now, and one thing is certain ~ in letting go of so much on so many levels, I created the time and space to find out who I really am, how I operate, what my life is really about, what works for me and what doesn’t. I had no room inside to realize any of this previously. Now I have the space to clearly see and know who I am and what my life is about.

Without the unnecessary trappings of living someone else’s idea of how my life should be, I’ve been able to see that my life is about healing myself. It always has been. I recognize earlier times in my life when I began down this path, and I see where it got frightening and I chose to give up on myself, thinking I would/could/should fit the proffered lifestyle “dream” if I just tried hard enough. I was off course for 25 years.

I’m back on track now. Life is a lot simpler when lived from within. How this looks for me is that I spend the majority of my time being an artist. I live and make art in the same tiny studio. I have everything I really need and I’m rigorous about unnecessary spending. I’m no longer in debt and I live comfortably on what I bring in each month. I won’t overcommit myself to anyone or anything, especially if it doesn’t feed my soul. I spend most of my time alone, in solitude, making art and healing.

If you want to see clearly, you have to begin to remove the distractions and delusions from your life. If you want to know who you are, you need to embrace life at the most fundamental levels. It takes courage. It’s sometimes painful. And it’s worth it.

Do you have to choose between freedom and approval?

Are you torn between choosing to have what you want, and needing to have others approve of you?

When you don’t have the freedom to choose to create or have what you truly want, you might be giving up your space to fears that others won’t like you if you do the things you really want to do.

If you’re afraid you’ll anger someone or hurt their feelings if you change, you are allowing your need for their approval to control you. You cannot blame somebody else for this. It’s within your power to change it, not theirs.

If you’ve allowed others to have power over you, that again isn’t their problem to solve. It’s yours. If you need others to approve of you living your life the way you see fit, and if you won’t make a move without their permission, you have nobody else to blame when you don’t get what you want.

You don’t have to make your life a democracy in which everyone else gets a vote on what can happen in your life. You may have been trying to be very nice, and to not create conflicts with others who think they know exactly who you are and what you should do. So, to keep the peace, you hold back, waiting for others to sign on to the idea of you having your own life. Perhaps you spend a lot of your energy helping them out, and they just don’t know what they would do without you! You end up feeling guilty at the thought of not being there for everyone else, and your life becomes all about keeping it together for them.

Meanwhile, what you see is possible for you, and the things you want in your life, don’t go away. You have a conflict in your space between what you think you should do, and what you really want to do.

A good dose of truth within yourself will go far in helping you to change the patterns of not making your life your own. By becoming honest with yourself, you can see yourself and your dreams more clearly. If you have no support for your dreams in your personal world, and are expected to give your energy away so that others can achieve theirs, maybe you want to change that.

If you decide that approving of yourself and being happy with who you are mean more to you than winning any popularity contests, you’re well on the way to creating your life from a place of inner freedom. This is your true job in this lifetime.

Which pictures do you invest your energy in?

How do you see yourself?

Did you know that you put your energy into the pictures you create of yourself and what it’s possible for you to have?

Where you put your energy is where you are, as a being. Where you put your energy is where you create.

So which of your creations would you rather see become real: the happy positive pictures, or the unhappy negative ones?

Don’t go pulling the ‘reality’ card out of your hat. Reality is also what you create. Again, where you put your energy is where you are, as a being. This is where you create. If your energy is in a picture of something you really do want, you’re more likely to get it than if your energy is caught in a victim picture, or helpless picture, or something else that doesn’t quite do you justice.

We all choose pictures to live and work by. Beginning from the time you were very small, you adopted pictures as your own, or created new ones. You might have admired the way the cheerleaders looked on the sidelines at a game, and perhaps you created a picture of yourself as one of them. You could see yourself doing what they were doing. Perhaps you were inspired by the way a rock guitarist played his or her guitar, and you created a picture of yourself someday doing the same.

It takes work to make your pictures real. If you see yourself as a musician, it also takes you showing up every day as the musician, practicing, studying, and so on. By investing your energy into this picture, you make it possible to create it. The pictures that you create for yourself determine what you can achieve in your life.

It also takes energy to create a picture that it’s not possible to have what you want.

For example, if you were given a picture as a child that you were clumsy, and you adopted this picture as being the truth, then you invested your energy into it, giving it more power as you grew up. If you saw yourself as clumsy, you might have limited what you could do or have, choosing to instead believe that you were too clumsy to dance, or be a cheerleader, or play baseball. By seeing yourself as clumsy, you may have become so as a result.

Then again, what if you decided to overcome the clumsy picture, pull your energy out of it, and instead invest your energy in a different picture? Perhaps one in which you could be seen in a more attractive light, a kinder light? If you saw yourself as becoming graceful, and being capable of becoming more sure footed, you might have worked to become this. by doing so, you gave yourself permission to become graceful. It began with your picture.

Do your pictures of your life include you being in a happy relationship, doing work that you love and which fulfills you? Even if your present reality doesn’t match to the picture of what you’d like to have, it helps to begin with a picture of what it is you want. This is where you want to be very honest with yourself about what you do want, and don’t want. It also helps to get the local Eyeores out of your way.

To create what it is you want takes a vision, faith, trust, and work. Honesty is also a requirement. You might have to move the old past time pictures you have of yourself out of your way first. Get into present time with who you are, what you want and need. Then go for it. Create those new pictures. Let nobody else throw a ‘can’t’ or ‘impossible’ at your pictures. These are yours, and nothing, really, is impossible if you are working from your own truth.
