Detox your energy this spring

Spring is a traditional time to go on a detox diet, which can help you to shed any leftover winter energy that, literally, weighs you down.

Why not take it a step further, and get to the core of where many of those toxins come from in the first place? Hint: it’s all energy!

When you give yourself an energy detox, you also detox physically. Everything begins with energy, and you are made of energy, body and spirit. Taking on energies that are toxic for you, such as stress, invalidation, anxiety, pain – will create an imbalance inside of you. This affects your body’s health, not to mention your overall sense of happiness and wellness, as well as your ability to create.

Each of us needs energy in order to live, be healthy, and create our lives to be how we want them to be.

If you find yourself feeling ‘full’ after being around particularly stressful people or situations, and if the energy you’ve taken on feels toxic to you, it’s not your own energy. This is like eating a meal that disagrees with you; rather than create a pleasant sense of well being within you, it may cause indigestion. If you’ve taken on energy that doesn’t agree with you, it’s not your energy to begin with. You can’t use it to create with, because it’s not yours. What’s more, it can get in the way of you enjoying the truth of your own energy.

It benefits you to become aware of which energies are yours, and which are not. This is consciousness.

Your own energy is the very best energy you could possibly run yourself on. You’d never fill an expensive sports car with the wrong grade of fuel, one that’s too heavy for the car. It wouldn’t run well, if at all. But you may have tried to run your body on energies that make it, and you, feel sluggish, tired, unhappy, invalidated, or in pain. None of those energies I just mentioned are your true vibration, by the way. If you’ve been giving your energy away all of your life, or taking on denser energies that aren’t you, you may begin to feel like there is something wrong with your energy.

Many people believe that losing their energy as they get older is a natural part of aging. They expect to have the same physical ailments that their parents did, and point to genetics as being predetermined and a given. Meanwhile, they have forgotten what it feels like to run on their own energy. They may be running on a toxic blend of stress-pain-invalidation, backed up by pain killers to dull the roar within.

It doesn’t have to be this way! You can quickly and very easily begin to heal yourself deeply, by taking care of your energy in a more conscious way.

Here are some suggestions for your Spring Energy Detox:

1. Rest, especially if you never do. Listen to your body and give it enough sleep, as well as quality time off.

2. Forgive. Let go of those toxic grudges, that sickening anger, or any exhausting energies you’ve held onto while also holding onto how someone hurt or wronged you.

3. Learn to ground yourself and begin to release energies you’ve taken on that are not you.

4. Meditate daily. Turn off your phone and other distractions, give yourself some quiet time and space so that you can go within and begin getting to better know the most important person in your life – you.

5. Say nice things to yourself and to your body. If you’ve had a tape loop of negative self criticism running through you, get rid of it.

6. Listen to your intuition. Follow it, and validate yourself when your intuition is right.

7. Get rid of mean people. Why waste energy on abusive, negative, and punishing people? If you do this, others around you will also find the courage to do the same thing. When negativity no longer has an audience, it goes away.

8. Let go of what you can’t solve. Just drop it. If you’ve been unable to solve a problem, it may not be yours to begin with.

9. Stop being responsible for everyone else, except for yourself. If you are busily running around saving the world, but forgot about you, you may be avoiding doing your own work.

10. Be in present time. Everything happens now, and now is the only time you can change, choose, create, and be in your body. It’s a miracle to be in the present time!

The most valuable gifts are those you can’t buy

The most sought after and precious gifts you can give won’t cost you a dime.

You can’t order them online, or wait in line for hours to buy them. But they are available to give freely, anytime you want to do so. One size fits all, and no matter who you give these gifts to, they are a good fit. There’s no worries about gift receipts, returns, or guessing whether your gift will be the right one.

And what’s even better – when you give one of these to someone else, you give the same to yourself.

Here’s a list of gifts that are sure to fit everyone on your list, for any occasion, at any time of year.

1. Non-judgment  ~  When you give the gift of non-judgment, you give one of the greatest presents ever. Once you decide to stop being in judgment, and allow others to be who they are and where they’re at, you take a load away from both them and yourself. Judgment as an energy is heavy, cold, stubborn, unyielding. Once you stop playing the judgment game, you can lighten up, instantly. Fears drop away, life is a happier place. If the person you’ve been judging most harshly is yourself, give yourself the gift of letting go of self criticism, and replace it with self love. You are then giving two gifts in one! By loving yourself, you become a gift for others, without lifting a finger. A person who accepts and loves himself or herself is a joy to be around.

2. Forgiveness  ~  When you forgive yourself, you no longer hold yourself back from your own life. By forgiving someone else, you give both them and yourself a supreme gift. You make it possible for real healing to happen, even if that person is no longer alive. Carrying the energy of forgiveness can help you to release dark heavy unhappy energies from your spirit. When you forgive someone for anything, you take your own power back. You cease being a victim. You become a beautiful example of the healing power of forgiveness. Highly recommended: watch the documentary Forgiving Dr. Mengele’ for a true life example of the healing power of forgiveness.

3. Gratitude  ~  By now the healing properties attributed to having an ‘attitude of gratitude’ are well known. It feels good to feel grateful – it’s a feeling you can feel throughout your whole spirit and body. But did you also know that when you carry this vibration with you, you become the healing for others? You do this without having to think about it, or to give your healing energy away to all those you come into contact with. You become a healing even for those you don’t know, when you’ve set your own energy at Gratitude.

4. A Positive Attitude  ~  When you choose to walk through life with a positive view, you are also embracing energies like amusement, peace, joy, and happiness. You’ve become skilled at letting go of small things that really do not matter. You are also working from a bigger picture, spiritually speaking. All who come into contact with you will benefit from being in your presence, even if it doesn’t seem like they can have the same positivity. In fact, some people may get downright ornery when you’re positive! This is where that amusement comes in handy. Keep your eyes on the prize, as the saying goes. What you prize, whatever you focus on, is where you’ll have more power to create. Having a positive view of life contributes dramatically to your overall health and well being.

These green gift ideas don’t use up resources from the planet, and leave a very low carbon footprint. In fact, they bring healing wherever they are given. When you give one of them to another person, that person is very likely going to re-gift what you gave, while also keeping it. In an exceptionally short time, your gift can double, triple, and continue to grow until it spreads like wildfire. You create real change in the world when you become conscious of the energies you allow to run through you. You become the gift.

Have a beautiful holiday! I have a gift for you: a free guided meditation called ‘A Meditation On Becoming Peace’. Find it at this page on my website: Peace Meditation. Enjoy!

Clairvoyance: Discerning the Truth from the Lies

This is a guest post by Billy Pacholski

“Close both eyes
to see with the other eye.” – Rumi

Clairvoyance, the art of clear seeing, allows one to look beyond the mental image pictures that inform and create one’s reality to the truth behind the layers; the essential psychic energy that is gently guiding all things in the physical world.

There is nothing magical about Clairvoyance; you don’t need a certificate or even training to do it. In fact, your inherent clairvoyance is always on, perhaps unconsciously, and if you want to turn up your awareness, all you need is a desire to “see”, a healthy dose of non-judgement or neutrality, and a lot of courage. A sense of humor helps too. 🙂

The real magic of being clairvoyant comes from allowing yourself to be seen. Once you begin to see things as they really are, in their essential truth, you cannot help but begin to grow and change. Old patterns and habits will begin to ripen and become ready to be plucked, freeing up space and energy for the new things you wish to experience. Defenses and lies that have alienated you from the world around you – and from yourself – will begin to simply fall away (some with a wimper, some with a snarl). Once you begin to see truth and be seen, you cannot help but move more quickly towards that essential truth – who you really are in spirit. Seeing yourself clearly is the beginning of the ultimate act – self-forgiveness. It allows you to step fully into your truth and power.

If you’re working clairvoyantly you cannot be controlled by others, because the lies and pictures that enslave us are simply that; when you begin to operate outside of those controls – be they familial, societal, monetary or national – you will experience encompassing freedom and the ability to choose. You can regain your will, your passion, and your desire to live an authentic and passionate life.

All this is well and good, of course, but the real healing in bringing awareness to your Clairvoyance is that you will begin to soften to yourself. The lies and controls you have placed on yourself – because of other people’s judgements, pain, invalidation and jealousies will begin to fade away. It can feel like coming home to yourself; a beautiful reclaiming of your true life force and energy. Some people begin to feel more safe; to feel more comfortable with intimacy, to feel passionate about living again. Everyone’s journey is unique, but one thing is true, seeing yourself clearly and trusting in what you see will create the change you wish to see in yourself, and in the world. Clairvoyance will be essential in healing our planet and our lives in the decades to come.

There are many forms of turning on your clairvoyance and awakening your psychic self. None are more right than another. But this ability is yours, it is your birthright, and you have the right to see the truth! Claim it!

10 energies to heal yourself with

1. Gratitude ~ This is a powerhouse energy, in and of itself. When you adopt this one as your daily companion, it’s difficult for you to be shut down. Finding gratitude for what you have, who you know, and who you are, including gratitude for your body – can help you to see the bigger picture and greater possibilities. See it, and it can become yours.

2. Forgiveness ~ Much like gratitude, forgiveness is a powerful energy, the super anti-oxidant of energies. Just as a powerful anti-oxidant will knock bad cells out of your body and keep you healthy, forgiveness can help you knock out dark heavy unhappy energies from your spirit. When you forgive someone for anything, you take your own power back. You cease being a victim. When you forgive yourself, you no longer hold yourself back from your own life. For a beautiful example of true life forgiveness, see the documentary, ‘Forgiving Dr. Mengele’.

3. Permission ~ Permission to do or become, all begins within you. If you’ve been waiting for permission to come to you from someone else, stop waiting. All that waiting will only have you collecting dust. Meanwhile, those around you who have decided to seize permission for themselves are living their lives the way they see fit. There is no blueprint; you are making it up as you go along on your journey. If you are following a script that says to wait for someone to tell you it’s time to spring into action, you are being controlled. It’s time to burn that old script and write your own.

4. Amusement ~ Another super powerhouse of an energy, amusement is one of the highest spiritual energies you can have within yourself. When in amusement, you will allow other difficult energies to simply melt away. They won’t bother you. It’s easier to see clearly, to not take it all personally, to release the chains that bind you, spiritually. It’s difficult to be controlled or lied to, when you’re amused.

5. Self Love ~ When you decide that you are already great, just as you are; when you decide you are worthy of love just because you exist; when you accept yourself, flaws and all – that is when you have found love for yourself. Life is so much easier, even the difficult parts, when you can have this for yourself. You won’t have to create situations in which you try to prove yourself worthy of love, because you won’t need to prove it if you already know it, within.

6. Being in the present ~ Everything is happening now, in this moment. You can’t do what you want yesterday, and tomorrow isn’t here yet. You are creating tomorrow, right now in this moment, with every choice and attitude you take and make. Present time is always where your body is, and if you want to find present time for yourself, find your body. Present time is a miracle. This is where you learn, create, grow, choose, change, and actually live.

7. Letting Go ~ This is necessary in order to create space enough to create anything new. If you’ve been holding onto everything and have a difficult time with this one, you already know how hard it can be to release ties to the past – to people, jobs, and especially old self images. Letting go is another powerhouse of an energy. Becoming conscious about what you’ve been holding onto is healing for you. You may find that what you thought you needed to hold onto, is actually holding you back from your next steps, and from your life as you’d like it to be.

8. Truth ~ Make it your habit and your goal to be in your truth. Speak the truth as you know it to be, and live it too. Notice which people and situations help you to be in your truth, and which ones take you away from it. Notice the energy of honest people, and how you feel being around them. Keep a journal in which you only write the truth to yourself, and write down things that you honestly want and feel. Write down where you’ve not been as truthful as you’d like to be, and forgive yourself for it. Being honest requires strength, and we are all encouraged to lie rather than confront others with our truth, and run the risk of hurting their feelings or making them uncomfortable. Social niceties have made liars of us all, when we’ve allowed them to.

9. Happiness ~ It is truly amusing that people even debate whether happiness is possible, or practical, or desirable, or deserved, etc. Happiness is an energy, and a choice. It is possible to decide to have a happy attitude. Happiness isn’t a perfect energy, though you can find yourself perfectly happy some days, and why not? Happiness is also a present time energy. It is interesting that the pursuit of happiness is in the United States Constitution as one of our rights. Do you also have it as one of your own personal rights? What if you were to write your own Spiritual Constitution, complete with your own Bill of Rights? Do you have the right to be happy?

10. Your own energy ~ This is the best energy to heal yourself with. It’s the best energy you can have within you. It’s the energy that was made for you, and it’s unique in all of creation. Your own energy is not flawed, but sometimes you might take on other energies that get in the way of yours. The way to begin to have more of your own energy within you, is to get to know yourself – to love, accept, forgive, and be honest about what you want and who you are. Meditation is one thing that can help you with this. Everything else on this list can also help you to find your own energy. Wanting to know and have your own energy is the first step towards doing it.

The healing power of anger

Who had permission to get angry in the household you grew up in?

Was it you, your mother or father,  or someone else? Was anger seen as natural and a way of releasing? Or was it judged as being a negative and unsafe emotion?

It may be that only the women in your family were allowed to get angry, or only the men. There simply wasn’t room for anyone else ‘to express their feelings of annoyance, displeasure, or hostility’ – (Webster’s definition of anger). It may have been unsafe for someone else, if you got angry. Maybe there was a lot of unconscious anger being thrown around already, and everyone else was expected to stuff theirs. Children who get angry are often viewed as being bad or disobedient.

If you grew up with this kind of energy, your natural ability to use anger constructively without judging yourself, may have become tainted. You may have learned to fear your own natural anger. Chances are that if you had no permission to get angry when you were young, you didn’t have any space either. If someone else couldn’t have you getting angry, your natural range of emotions was controlled. A judgment was placed in your space about anger. You learned to avoid ‘making’ someone else angry. People lie all of the time to each other to avoid an angry response. The fear of anger makes us into liars.

When anger is used unconsciously, and thrown at anyone who happens to be in the way, it isn’t constructive or healing. It can actually be punishing for those on the receiving end, who may have done nothing to cause the anger. If someone is always angry, running on anger, that may just be their style. But if they misdirect it into your space, or at others, this is when it becomes a negative energy.

When your feelings haven’t been acknowledged by others as being important, you may need to get angry to move that invalidation out of your way. If you’re being honest with yourself about what you’re expressing, and it still isn’t heard, anger can help you to get stuck energy moving again. If you repress your true natural anger for long enough, it will come out in other ways, whether in your body’s health, your emotional health, or your energy levels. Repressed anger can lead to depression.

Being honest with yourself helps you to avoid having to stuff your own anger. If you’ve been trying to fit into the small amount of space others have decided you’re allowed to have, anger is a natural response. Like a volcano, once you release that energy, you can cool down and create something new, something more true for you.

Creativity in your relationships

Every relationship you create begins with the one you have with yourself.

Yes, you did create all of the relationships you have. They weren’t just foisted upon you. This doesn’t make you responsible for the actions of the other person in the relationship, and it also doesn’t excuse anyone from being abusive or mean. Just because you find yourself in a relationship it doesn’t mean you have to stay there. As your consciousness about who you are changes, so will your relationships.

Brilliant relationships require care, communication, consciousness, and creativity in order to stay brilliant. Especially the one you have with you, because it determines what you create with others.

Creative communication in a relationship can determine how far the relationship can grow and develop. If you constantly expect the others you are in relationship with to see things your way, or to match to you and always agree with you, the relationship will get stuck. If you’re in a relationship with someone who is rigid and afraid to change, you know the feelings of frustration this attitude can create.

So even if you both think you’re not creating anything, you always are, by the choices you each make. Relationships are agreements. A clear conscious honest agreement with another person is a gift. You don’t need more yes men in your life – you need friends who will be direct, honest, and open with you. Those are the people one can trust.

So if you are tired of being around deceitful, invalidating, stuck people, first of all, forgive them. Secondly, give yourself the permission to create some new relationships with people who are interested in growth, who want to do the work it takes to create real friendships, who, even when afraid, do their work anyway. Nobody’s perfect, and we all need a break from time to time. But ask yourself this: do you keep creating the kinds of relationships you don’t want, and that don’t serve your growth, that don’t support and validate you? That can all change the moment you say ‘when’.

Clairvoyance tops the list for 2011

Every year has its own flavor, its own special energy that defines that year. The past 10 years have been, energetically speaking, very active years.

Though 2010 was not seen as an easy year by many people, it was a great year for the energies of destruction, letting go, completion, and clearing out old karma. Before the new can be created, the old must be swept away to make room for it. And so evolution continues.

Have you learned to embrace the mess yet? I hope so, because if you have, you will be especially ready for the coming year. 2011 is bringing a whole new vibe with it, and if you are here now, you’ve agreed to be with this new energy. This is an amazing time to be alive, a great time in our evolution as human beings. There is so much opportunity to create a new world now. Are you in?

Look for these ten to be especially big in the coming year of 2011:

1. Clairvoyance ~ This is a human ability, and a psychic ability; the ability to see energy clearly. Since everyone and everything is made of energy, this is a convenient ability to have on and working. Clairvoyance works better when you can see without judgment, especially while looking at yourself. In fact, the greatest use of clairvoyance is to see yourself clearly. If you can do that, without judgment, and with a lot of love and forgiveness, nothing will stand in your way. This is a spiritual super power!

2. Value ~ We are reexamining the meaning of what has value. Our economy obliged us in this quest by exploding, resulting in the loss of jobs, and lowering the value of labor, real estate, and money. Does that make our value as human beings less, or has it helped us to see more clearly what has true value for us?

3. Consciousness ~ Yes, consciousness is one of the most important energies for 2011. It’s time to see through the fog, and become aware of what’s possible, instead of accepting what others say is possible. If you do one big thing for yourself in 2011, allow yourself to become aware of your own true strength, abilities, and power. You’ll never go back to being unconscious about those again.

4. Truth ~ As in, your own. Do you know what that is? Do you want to know, and to live in it? This is your business alone, and not up to anyone else. Nor do others have the right to judge what is true for you.

5. Love ~ Love is an energy, an ability, and a healing for you when you have it for yourself. To learn to love yourself is one of the greatest gifts you can give, to yourself and others.

6. Happiness ~ Another great choice to make, daily. Happiness is an energy, a feeling, a way of life, a way to be and become. Happiness is of the spirit.

7. Healing ~ All healing is self healing. You can learn how to heal yourself, and then do it. All of the other energies on this list can help you to do this. In fact, just by asking yourself what you need to do to heal, and listening, you are on a healing path.

8. Forgiveness ~ is all about letting go, releasing old energy, getting into present time, clearing karma, dropping old burdens, so that you can be here now and create anew. Forgiveness is freedom.

9. Reinvention ~ Now that you’ve let go, destroyed the old, forgiven, decided to be happy, learned to love yourself, and started seeing clearly, what does it look like to be the you, that you want to become? What do you look like in that picture? It’s time for reinvention, baby! Dream big!

10. Peace ~ If each of us decided to carry this energy with us at least part of every day, not only would our own individual loads be lighter, we’d also be bringing healing energy with us, wherever we went.

Happy New Year to you! May 2011 bring you happiness, love, peace, and joy! Dream big in this new year!

Clearing karma is completing old business

If you’ve been feeling like you’re living in the middle of a storm, you’re not alone.

It can be easy to feel isolated, and like you’re the only one going through it, during times of great duress and stress. If one shoe after another seems to be falling on you, it can also be easy to take it personally.

Though it’s not easy, it’s not necessarily personal, either. You may feel overwhelmed, but it’s a time that will pass, much like a storm does. Some storms are so intense that it feels like they’ll never end, but eventually they all do. At times they leave a great amount of destruction in their wake.

Spiritual storms do the same. If you’ve needed to clear the path in front of you, you might have needed to create a great big storm. There’s no controlling a storm, one must ride it out. If what’s been raging around you has been intense, it might be driving you deeper within yourself, so that you can find the answers that have been there all along.

There is a lot of completion happening now. This past year, 2010, has been all about upheaval, destruction, and completing old business. There is an old time finishing now, an old way of living and being. If you’ve already decided as a being that you want to participate in the new energy that’s coming, you’re very likely working on releasing the old.

You may have been doing this for a few years now, or it may have recently intensified for you. Either way, it’s a reality for many people right now. You might have already been feeling unsatisfied with how you were living your life, and decided to find a true meaning for yourself. You may have returned to a creative passion of yours, one you’d given up because it didn’t make sense or earn income. Your heart’s message may have gotten louder and you simply had to begin listening.

It might even have become pleasant to let go, perhaps this year you learned what was most important to you and let go of the rest. Maybe the loss of a job or way of living woke you up to the true resources you have within you. However it came about, there is no doubt that a time of living in one’s own truth is here. And anything that shuts down your spirit and tells you that you are wrong for wanting to become who and what you want to be, is lying to you.

If you are to achieve your goals, you may have some stuff to move out of your way, especially everything that’s not in present time for you. Old agreements with others: teachers, bosses, employees, family, friends, neighbors, acquaintances, adversaries, and so on… you may still have agreements you’re completely unconscious of. Facebook has been brilliant for this – it’s like a great karma clearing service. People show up from the past in droves, they find you or you find them, old energy comes with, and you all get to choose to be in present time with each other. Beautiful!

Completing the old can become easier when you consciously decide to do so. Meditation is a helpful tool in doing this: spending quality time being still and not doing a thing are important. Letting go is the key now. It is in the letting go that healing begins on a deeper level.

The peace in your heart becomes peace on earth

It wouldn’t be so very difficult to create an atmosphere of peace on earth.

If each of us decided to carry this energy with us at least part of every day, not only would our own individual loads be lighter, we’d also be bringing healing energy with us, wherever we went.

Many people already do this. Those who show up with a good attitude, ready to give of themselves, to say hello to others, who are happy to be alive, and grateful for the many gifts of life – these are the healers. They don’t even have to say a word. Just by choosing to embody a peaceful happy energy, they give others permission to choose the same.

If you want to heal the planet and make a difference, consider that your real work might begin with healing yourself. By becoming the energy you want to see become real, you have more of an impact than if you’re running around trying to convince others to do this, or judging and condemning them for not doing so. It can be easier to spend one’s energy “helping” others see the light instead of doing one’s own difficult work. It’s easier to see how others can improve than decide to do this within. Our own personal stuff can be so messy!

Many healers also feel guilty about taking their own energy back and using it to heal their own lives. There are agreements with the others that may need to be changed in order to move on and create something new. This requires consciousness, which can be so inconvenient: If I actually see what’s going on, I may have to make some big changes, and so and so won’t like it. Perhaps your consciousness is merely inconvenient for the status quo.

What if peace were to become the status quo* within you? What if you decided that no matter what anyone else decided to become, you would become peace?

*The original phrase from 14th-century diplomatic Latin was in statu quo res erant ante bellum, meaning “in the state in which things were before the war”. This gave rise to the shorter form status quo ante bellum “the state in which (it was) before war” (indicating the withdrawal of enemy troops and restoration of power to prewar leadership), as well as other variations such as status quo itself. ~Wikipedia

In this time of big change and growth,  I wish you peace in your heart, and love in your life.
