Detox your energy this spring

Spring is a traditional time to go on a detox diet, which can help you to shed any leftover winter energy that, literally, weighs you down.

Why not take it a step further, and get to the core of where many of those toxins come from in the first place? Hint: it’s all energy!

When you give yourself an energy detox, you also detox physically. Everything begins with energy, and you are made of energy, body and spirit. Taking on energies that are toxic for you, such as stress, invalidation, anxiety, pain – will create an imbalance inside of you. This affects your body’s health, not to mention your overall sense of happiness and wellness, as well as your ability to create.

Each of us needs energy in order to live, be healthy, and create our lives to be how we want them to be.

If you find yourself feeling ‘full’ after being around particularly stressful people or situations, and if the energy you’ve taken on feels toxic to you, it’s not your own energy. This is like eating a meal that disagrees with you; rather than create a pleasant sense of well being within you, it may cause indigestion. If you’ve taken on energy that doesn’t agree with you, it’s not your energy to begin with. You can’t use it to create with, because it’s not yours. What’s more, it can get in the way of you enjoying the truth of your own energy.

It benefits you to become aware of which energies are yours, and which are not. This is consciousness.

Your own energy is the very best energy you could possibly run yourself on. You’d never fill an expensive sports car with the wrong grade of fuel, one that’s too heavy for the car. It wouldn’t run well, if at all. But you may have tried to run your body on energies that make it, and you, feel sluggish, tired, unhappy, invalidated, or in pain. None of those energies I just mentioned are your true vibration, by the way. If you’ve been giving your energy away all of your life, or taking on denser energies that aren’t you, you may begin to feel like there is something wrong with your energy.

Many people believe that losing their energy as they get older is a natural part of aging. They expect to have the same physical ailments that their parents did, and point to genetics as being predetermined and a given. Meanwhile, they have forgotten what it feels like to run on their own energy. They may be running on a toxic blend of stress-pain-invalidation, backed up by pain killers to dull the roar within.

It doesn’t have to be this way! You can quickly and very easily begin to heal yourself deeply, by taking care of your energy in a more conscious way.

Here are some suggestions for your Spring Energy Detox:

1. Rest, especially if you never do. Listen to your body and give it enough sleep, as well as quality time off.

2. Forgive. Let go of those toxic grudges, that sickening anger, or any exhausting energies you’ve held onto while also holding onto how someone hurt or wronged you.

3. Learn to ground yourself and begin to release energies you’ve taken on that are not you.

4. Meditate daily. Turn off your phone and other distractions, give yourself some quiet time and space so that you can go within and begin getting to better know the most important person in your life – you.

5. Say nice things to yourself and to your body. If you’ve had a tape loop of negative self criticism running through you, get rid of it.

6. Listen to your intuition. Follow it, and validate yourself when your intuition is right.

7. Get rid of mean people. Why waste energy on abusive, negative, and punishing people? If you do this, others around you will also find the courage to do the same thing. When negativity no longer has an audience, it goes away.

8. Let go of what you can’t solve. Just drop it. If you’ve been unable to solve a problem, it may not be yours to begin with.

9. Stop being responsible for everyone else, except for yourself. If you are busily running around saving the world, but forgot about you, you may be avoiding doing your own work.

10. Be in present time. Everything happens now, and now is the only time you can change, choose, create, and be in your body. It’s a miracle to be in the present time!

With a smile on your face

You’ve got to get up every morning with a smile on your face
And show the world all the love in your heart
Then people gonna treat you better
You’re gonna find, yes you will
That you’re beautiful as you feel ~’Beautiful’ ©Carole King

Some people seem to be waiting for that magical day to arrive when all of the problems are solved everywhere, and they are now free to (finally) be happy. Or for someone to give them permission, and allow happiness to exist as an option – a fairy godmother, perhaps? News flash: it isn’t going to happen. Challenges and problems are a part of life, and only you can give yourself permission.

Have you put being happy on hold because you think it comes from outside of yourself? Perhaps you’ve been going at it backwards. If you’ve been waiting for some Happiness Delivery Service to show up and bring it to your door, you are missing the point. Only you can decide to be happy. You can start right now, in this moment. Or in 15 minutes, if you prefer. Add it to your to-do list for the day: ‘Happiness Hour’.

If you don’t yet have the things that you just know will make you happy, and are depending on having the right job, home, relationship, weight loss, vacation, time off, etc…. to do this for you, you may have forgotten that you already know how to be happy.

Happiness is an energy, and also a choice. If you’re going through a challenging and difficult time, as so many people are now, it can feel impossible to become happy in the midst of it. If you sink yourself into constant worrying about your present time conditions, you may forget the power you have within to change your reality energetically. Sometimes all it takes is a big belly laugh, forgiveness, an attitude adjustment, finding gratitude, listening to your body, doing something different – to remember how quickly ‘reality’ changes. Also remember, when it comes down to it, some things are just out of your control. If you’re worrying about those things, you’re spending valuable energy on conditions you simply cannot change.

Ten happy things to do instead of worrying:

1. Laugh out loud, even if you don’t really mean it. At the very least you’ll get some fresh air.
2. Make up silly riddles. (Do vegetarians wear fishnets?)
3. Eat expensive and amazing dark chocolate. Savor every bite.
4. Breathe, drink tea, and meditate on what’s right in your life. Do this before letting the rest of the world into your space – first thing in the morning is highly recommended.
5. Stop trying to make sense to everyone. While you’re at it, let go of needing to be perfect too.
6. Turn OFF the TV, especially the news.
7. Listen to music that feels good, and dance to it.
8. Try on hats you never thought you’d ever wear. Or just the ones that you haven’t let yourself wear yet.
9. Write country song titles. My newest ones are “Take the Chains Off My Heart, (It’s Not a Snow Tire)” and “Designated Driver For the Pain”.
10. Sit still for 5 minutes. When you begin to fidget after the first 20 seconds, really get into it. Fidget loudly and like you mean it.

Rather than over-think the idea of being happy, ask yourself, what are you giving, being, or doing to create happiness in the world? Make your own happiness list. How can you help someone else? What do you have to give to others, a smile, a hello, kindness? Perhaps it’s in the giving of yourself that you can find the keys to your own happiness.

Flexibility, consciousness, and letting go

These are influential energies to live by for the 21st century.

Simplicity is another one that comes into my life effortlessly once I’ve let go, allowing myself to become more Flexible and Conscious as a result. Fluidity is the new wave here, as in go with the flow.

Resistance and Rigidity are leaving town for an extended vacation. I’m sending them on a cruise, and believe me they’ll never look the same again.

I plan to invite Effortless over more often, just for tea and a nice talk. Maybe than Play can come with, and we can all have a nice time together, Inventing. Which happens without trying hard at all, once Play is here. It is time to tell Negativity to find somewhere else to live. I think I’ll let Amusement do that. Once Amusement arrives, the whole party changes!

I’ve asked Prosperity to set the tone from now on. Gratitude and Abundance can help, they always throw the best parties. I’m thinking that we need to redecorate in here, and Happiness has some great ideas about that. That sets the stage for Change, Growth, and Transformation to arrive, yet again. They love to make grand entrances. And, after all that partying, it’s great to get some Space, maybe take a nice long Nap.

I am so Fortunate, and maybe even a little bit Silly, but I really do have some great friends, and I Value them everyday.

On becoming a conscious healer

Related Posts Plugin for WordPress, Blogger...All healing is self healing. Someone heals because she or he wants to do so.

This is a good thing to keep in mind if you think that it’s up to you whether others heal or not. It isn’t up to you, it’s up to them. You cannot do another person’s work, because it simply isn’t your job.

Many sensitive and caring people feel guilty if they don’t lend an ear when needed, do for others, even at their own expense, and give until it hurts. They even feel guilty for resenting the drama kings and queens in their lives, reminding themselves that they feel lucky to be able to give so much, and it is up to them to do so.

People like this often attract those in need or constant crisis, or who make huge demands on them and their energy. One could say that someone who is doing this is working unconsciously, as an ‘out of control’ healer.

A few guidelines to help you decide if you’ve been an out of control healer:

  • You need to fix every problem you come across.
  • You have to rescue every hurt soul.
  • You see the pain, and immediately jump into action, here to save and rescue the day.
  • You feel guilty because you are healthier than others, or have more than others do.
  • You seem to collect people in crisis. They flock to your side, spill their tales of woe, and you start mopping up / sponging up, all of that pain.
  • You continue to do this, even when people get angry because you try and try to heal them, but they don’t get healed.
  • Doing this is exhausting you, and your own health is suffering as a result. You are truly feeling the pain.

Many well meaning and compassionate people make the mistake of giving away their healing energy to others. There is giving, and giving away. If you’ve ever given until it, literally, hurts you, you may be an out of control healer. If your validation depends on how many people you’ve rescued, you may be trying to save them for yourself, not them. You are in their space, trying to change what they are experiencing, and they may not want you to do so.

Overreaching your boundaries like this has several effects on your space: your body will suffer, you will have a hard time seeing yourself clearly, and you can create karma with others by not allowing them to do their own work.

None of this is to say that those who care about others and help out when people are in need, are doing anything wrong. If anything, we need more volunteers, more people to help out, to give from the heart, on this planet. There is a more conscious way to do this, a way to give without giving away all of your energy. Because once you give it all away, it’s gone, and that won’t do you or anyone else any good at all.

Another way you could be an unconscious healer is by not having what it is you really want, if others can’t also have it. Guilt, in other words, stops you from living your life to the fullest you are able. You are healing others, even if you don’t know it, by doing this.

If you’ve held back, waiting for others to be ready to take a step, you are healing them, not yourself. Actually, nobody’s going anywhere with all of that ‘stop’ energy. If you decide to be brave enough and step up to the plate in your own game, star in your own life, you may hear more screaming than cheering at first, but persist and you’ll begin to get to where you want to go.

There is another way to be a healer.

We teach others how to treat us, by how we treat ourselves. If you’ve taught others that it’s okay to drag their muddy shoes across your floor, or throw pain and punishment into your space, you can change all of that. You can decide, right now, to begin to heal yourself. As a healer, it is up to you to do so. All healing is self healing, and if you begin with yourself, you teach others they can do it too.

Clairvoyance can help you to dream up your own reality

Have you ever had a dream that felt so real, it became real? When you woke up, for a split second all you knew was that dream reality;  perhaps it was preferable to what you actually had.

I had a dream like this that stays with me still. On my way to Spain in December 1990 for a two week holiday, I fell asleep on the airplane. I was exhausted, overworked, worried about my fashion business. Truthfully, I didn’t like being a fashion designer anymore and was ready for a big change. The economy was hitting the skids, and my own economy wasn’t doing much better. I needed to get away, so planned an adventure with a good friend.

In the dream, I was standing at the edge of a steep and scary cliff. I was terrified, afraid to fall, not seeing another way. Then a voice said to me, “go on, you can fly!”. There was no one visible, but I felt it was true, and took a leap. I flew away from that cliff, and it was a beautiful feeling. When I woke up, I wanted to cry and laugh at the same time. I was ready to make a change. That dream was the beginning of a new vision for my life.

The true power of clairvoyance lies in being able to create a vision. If you can see it, in other words, you can create it. Creating your own vision for the future is far more interesting than waiting for someone else to predict it for you. It’s also scarier, because there’s nobody to blame if your vision doesn’t quite work out the way you expected.

If art school taught me anything, it was flexibility. More often than not, my finished paintings did not match the original vision I had when beginning them. Sometimes they were better, and sometimes they weren’t. New discoveries were made that wouldn’t have shown up any other way. Rather than any of this being a problem, an artist learns to go with it.

The beauty is in the discovery as one goes along, much like living life. The amount of control we each have is quite small, but the ability to invent, visualize, and create, is enormous. We have hardly scratched the surface of this magnificent ability that each of us has already, this clairvoyant ability.

Now, more than ever, we need capable clairvoyants on this earth. Fortunately, we are living in a time of clairvoyance, so they are showing up. It’s time to let go of the old pictures of what others declared was and always will be reality, and to create the new pictures.

Just because we currently live on a planet where war is prevalent, hunger is allowed to exist, and greed rules the day, doesn’t make any of this the whole reality of who we are as beings. These are choices, unconscious ones perhaps, what we need or want to experience as beings.

What would you like to see change? How does your planet Earth look to you, the one you would love to live on? How would you like to live and create? Perhaps you’re already working on your own vision of the future. But if you’ve gotten yourself caught in someone else’s ‘reality show’, you can disengage by creating a new vision. Begin to look for yourself and to share your new vision with others.

Reinventing yourself from the ground up

If you’ve been waiting until the time was right to recreate yourself, what are you waiting for? There has never been a more perfect time than now.

Sometimes people wait to take big steps until they’re certain that others won’t notice, mind, or get upset that they are changing. Any little change you make will be noticed energetically by those near and dear to you. If you’ve been waiting for permission to grow, consider announcing to yourself that the time is now. You don’t actually have to say anything to anyone else if you don’t want to. Taking any step, no matter how small, in the direction of yourself will help you to take the next one, and the one after that. Action speaks louder than words, and getting a momentum going will get you moving.

If you’ve been waiting for everything to settle down for others, or for it to be your turn, it’s time to get very honest with yourself. Does it ever really settle down, and when was the last time anyone turned to you and said, “okay, it’s your turn”? If you are creating changes that upset the status quo, overturn the apple cart, or destroy the convenience you created for others, nobody is going to willingly ask you to change. You are responsible for doing it yourself. Yes, you are the only one who can do this.

You may have been waiting until you knew what you wanted to become or do. Meanwhile you’re allowing everything that isn’t working for you to stay safely in place, distracting you and using your energy until you just don’t have enough left to create the new you.

Here’s what is necessary in order to reinvent yourself: you must let go of the old ways of being that are no longer working for you. Fashions change, and it’s a safe bet that you’re not wearing the same clothes now that you wore 20 years ago. You already have permission to change as fashions do, but what about changing yourself to become interesting and exciting again to you?

Destruction is the key to making space enough to do this. Remember that not everyone welcomes change or destruction of the old, and don’t feel like you have to get approval from anyone, even your best friends, before taking the plunge into your own brave new future.

If not now, when?

FaceTweet it!

Destruction is not the enemy, but the gift

You’ve no doubt noticed by now that destruction is a recurring and uncontrollable part of life.

So is creation, but it’s destruction that gets the bad rap. Destruction is judged as a negative, an unnecessary, and it often gets mixed up with other energies like anger and unkindness. Bad, bad destruction!

Destruction is the bad boy of energies.

Good people don’t willingly destroy a perfectly good thing, and women are not supposed to destroy at all. After all, their bodies can create life, and aren’t they supposed to nurture everyone and make sure it All Stays Together? A woman who destroys is just acting like a man!

Besides all that, why would anyone want to add to the current climate of fear as everything continues to Fall Apart, everywhere on the planet? Won’t somebody please find the glue that sticks it back together!? Can’t we pass a new law or something? The good old days are gone forever!

It’s interesting that one person’s memory of the good old days can be another person’s memory of a nightmare.

We humans have a hard time letting go of the old in order to forge ahead, to create anew. So we resist and judge the destruction happening all around, rather than embrace it and consciously use it for our own ends. It’s difficult for us to see that the structures we create and put into place come complete with their own destruction, already built in. Nothing lasts forever, and when it is time for one thing to move on, it crumbles. Bye now!

It’s really best to let it go. Ask yourself, what have you learned by this? What are you holding onto, what are you afraid to destroy? Then ask, what are you free to create if you let this old thing go? If you don’t know, congratulations! You get to discover your next horizon, your next world. You do have a reason for being here now, at this time. You chose it, and you have what you need within you to create your next steps.

Here’s a short list of what’s up on the chopping block now:

Obeying authority unconsciously; unrestrained greed; unconsciousness about how we are poisoning our environment and our bodies; the disconnection between body and spirit; the disconnection from others in one’s community.

It’s taken a major worldwide financial crisis to shake and wake us up to some of these issues. This is nothing short of Evolution, or is it a Spiritual Revolution? Yes, there is destruction, and it’s not always easy or pretty, and it will continue. What is ending now no longer fits into where we are going next.

What have you been destroying?
