Spring growth, changes, and updates

Happy Spring to you. May your flowers bloom and grow!

A note from Kris: Though I don’t usually post my news here, I’m making an exception for today’s post. I’ve been absent from this blog for a few months, but I haven’t been idle. There’s been a lot of action going on behind the scenes. Thank you to my readers and subscribers for reading my blog, and for your patience during this time of transition. New creations are here, with more on the way. Here’s my latest news.

1. I have a new website: I’ve moved my KrisCahill.com website over to WordPress.org. It’s still in transition but looking good right now. I’ll be doing the same for this blog, Psychic Everyday, later this spring.

2. New class offerings! I teach a monthly workshop with Liz McDonald at her yoga studio, Brazilian Yoga and Pilates, in Los Angeles. Our next workshop is tomorrow, March 25, and is called ‘Occupy Your Pelvis’. There is still room in the workshop if you want to join. You can register here: Occupy Your Pelvis.

We made a  video about this class:

3. The Sunday Meditation Teleseminar. I lead a weekly 60 minute meditation teleseminar, every Sunday at 10am PT. You only need a phone to join in on the call. You will also receive the recording from the meditation. (You can also purchase it if you can’t attend in person.)  Every Sunday meditation has a theme. Recent themes include: ‘Dreams Come True’, ‘Create Your New Life’, ‘The Energy of Love’, ‘Permission to Change and Grow’. Find out more about this meditation and sign up for the next one here.

4. Meditation Recordings. There are currently several dozen different recorded meditations available, and that list is growing. Learn more and purchase meditation recordings here.

5. Psychic Readings with me: many of you already know that I am a full time clairvoyant reader, healer, teacher and writer. Did you also know that you can have a reading by Skype or phone, as well as in person? Learn more about my readings here.

A few exciting creations that are coming soon:

– Kid’s Meditation Recordings. My first collection of kid’s meditations will be coming out this year! I’m working with a brilliant musician/producer on this one. More news coming soon about the release date.

– More audio and video classes. I’ll post them as they are ready, but here’s a link to some recent videos on my YouTube channel: Psychic Everyday on YouTube.

– My first book is also in the works. More news on that later!

Thank you so much for reading my posts, and for your interest in my work. I’m committed to communicating to others that they do indeed have the power to heal themselves deeply and profoundly, and that it can be delightful and FUN to do so. That fun part is very important!

I wish you Peace and Happiness this Spring!

Say yes! to Peace in 2012

I’ve often said that I don’t predict the future because I find it pointless to do so. We are each able to take part in the creating of our future, individually and together, by becoming conscious and making our choices accordingly.

As 2011 wraps up its final moments, here are some important energies I see as 2012 moves into view. Happy New Year to you!

1. Peace – We are all improvisers in the art of life. The first rule of improvisation is to say ‘yes, and’. In 2012, it will become even more important that we consciously say yes to peace, to cultivating peace, and to having a peace consciousness. It’s obvious that war is extremely profitable for some. Let’s show that peace is an even more valuable commodity for all the rest of us here on earth. What do we gain from peace? Priceless things, like getting to know each other better, and creating a new happier healthier world together, to start. Peace will be one of the biggest energies to become aware of in 2012. It all begins within each of us.

2. Community – As 2011 showed the world, we are stronger when we cooperate together. Working together, people can create massive social change, without lobbyists,  expensive advertising agencies, or violence. All it takes is waking up and seeing clearly, which was another gift 2011 gave to us. After we begin to see each other in a new way, we can work to create what we do want here on earth.

3. Truth – By now it should be obvious that nobody is going to get away with telling lies anymore, at least not for long. The truth is coming out faster than ever, and truths thought long buried are surfacing. This is true not only on a global level, but deep within each of us as well. If you’ve been lying to yourself, even unconsciously so, that energy no doubt surfaced in the past year or two. Now is the time to move ahead with your own truth. Your truth includes being able to listen to and follow your own heart, which is going to be even more important in 2012.

4. Creativity – ‘Necessity is the mother of invention’ is how the old saying goes. Creativity will become even more valuable in 2012 as we are called on to recreate our world. Those who can visualize and imagine will be at the forefront of the new creations. The new pictures are already here, with many more on the way. Creativity includes every other energy on this list. If you’ve been unable to validate your own creativity, now is the time to learn how to do so.

5. MeditationMeditation is a tool that pays off in very big ways, even when you only have a few minutes a day to practice it. You can take it with you anywhere you go, it needs no special equipment, and helps you to learn things you can’t learn anywhere else. It’s well worth taking the time to learn how to meditate, because then you have it for life. Your health, emotions, sense of peace and well being, and body will all benefit from this practice. Find out about my meditation classes and recordings here.

6. Clairvoyance – Clairvoyance was at the top of my list for 2011, and continues to rise in importance as we human beings evolve. The ‘art of seeing clearly’ is what clairvoyance is all about. And if you are able to see yourself clearly, so much the better. You can read much more about this very human spiritual ability in the many posts on this blog about clairvoyance and being psychic.

7. Letting go – Traveling lightly, dropping your burdens, not needing to carry a load of stuff with you as you move forward in your life. What is it you insist upon carrying that makes it difficult for you to step ahead into your life as you want to live it? Though the years 2009-2011 helped us all to let go of much, there’ll be more of that in 2012. Whether it’s a way of living, an old belief or picture you have of yourself that’s not accurate, or a grudge you’ve held onto tightly, it’s all in the letting go that healing happens.

8. Self Healing – Though it seems strange to say so, one of the biggest healings we’ve had in the U.S. has been our decaying and horrid health care system, complete with the rampant greed of the insurance and pharmaceutical industries. ‘Better living through chemicals’ isn’t, and being without insurance has driven many people to the edge of despair, especially when they or a loved one became ill with a serious illness. Through all of this terrible pain and destruction, people have begun waking up to the power they have within to heal, and to the many modalities available to do just that. From the common sense approach to using food as medicine and prevention, which the AMA and other so called ‘authorities’ refuse to even consider as viable, to other alternative ways to create healing – a new way of healing is being born. Look for much more of this in 2012.

9. Love – All you need is love. Love becomes a way of living, healing, creating, growing, transforming our lives, if we only give it the space to exist and grow.

10. Consciousness – The grounding for all of the rest of what it is possible to make real is becoming conscious. Becoming conscious takes courage, and a willingness to see, hear, and know. Many times when unconsciousness rules the day, we create events in order to wake up. Some of these happenings or events may not be comfortable, but they certainly do serve the purpose of waking us up. Deciding to be conscious is a lot more fun, and a lot easier than allowing oneself to be shaken awake. Why not make consciousness one of your key words for 2012?

May 2012 be a beautiful year for you!

This is the post I wrote exactly one year ago today about 2011: ‘Clairvoyance tops the list for 2011’.

Do you have time and space to listen to yourself?

Are you able to take the time to just sit, listen, and be?

Or has it been all about doing, being busy, and getting a lot done? Many people find their worth in production, constant improvement and busy-ness. Busy as a bee, I’m so busy, busy busy busy! There’s so much to DO. Sometimes there can be such a demand on one to prove one’s worth, as if by constantly being in movement, you won’t lose ground. A rolling stone gathers no moss, and so on.

People do need a place to put their energy, to pitch in and feel they have value. It’s important for each of us to have something we feel we can contribute. However, that isn’t the whole story of who you are and why you’re here, not by a long shot.

Remember, just because you are constantly in movement, that doesn’t mean that your energy is also.

You could be going non-stop, and still have energy that is stuck. Ever feel like no matter what you DID, things didn’t move into place for you? You feel like you’re in lots of effort and nothing’s working, it’s all stuck.

Stopping to sit and listen at those times is the very best thing you could do. That is, if you can listen to yourself with compassion and kindness, not self recrimination and criticism. Sometimes we make ourselves very busy so we don’t have to listen to our own critical internal voice. That critical voice may not even be your energy – you might have picked up the habit from others close to you who also are harsh and judgmental on themselves. If all you hear when you stop to listen is everyone else’s warnings, advice, fears, successes, sorrow, instructions… you may never learn the true beauty of your own internal voice.

If you can allow yourself to sit and be, and to let go of that internal critic as you do, you’ll be able to hear the really delightful stuff, the things you’ve been trying to hear. Your spirit has a lot to communicate, as does your body. If you allow your worrying, nagging, critical mind to take over, you’ll have difficulty hearing the rest.

How about taking the time to listen to your own heart? Your truth lies within you, and is unique to you. You can certainly be inspired by what others have to say, or how they are choosing to take action (or not) in their own lives. But it’s when you learn to listen to yourself and to move the blocks out of your way that have made it difficult to hear yourself clearly, that you can understand something about who you are.

Did you know that by simply being who you are, you are also doing? What you are doing is bringing the gift you came here to bring – yourself. Nobody else can do that but you.

When you speak the language of energy

Energy is a language you were born knowing how to speak. This is a language we all know, though each of us might  have a different way of understanding what it means. Each person has a unique perspective and experience.

I may have a different way of feeling, seeing, or knowing energy than you. It’s pointless to try to prove energy to anyone else, because of this uniqueness. Trying to prove energy to someone is like trying to prove what you feel. Your feelings are your experience, and while you can communicate them, you can’t expect others to completely understand your experience of feeling. They have their own experience, which you may not completely understand.

You were born already equipped to speak the language of energy, because you are energy. Your body is made of energy. You as a being are energy, spirit.

As an energy, there is just one of you; you are unique in all of creation. This is why it’s important for you to know yourself: the rest of us need you to be you, because nobody else can replace you. When you find the truth of who you are, you heal yourself and become a healing for others, just by being. It becomes easier for you to create your creations, and live your life.

If you think there’s something wrong with you or with your energy, you can go through life feeling flawed, as if you’re missing something. When things in your life don’t go the way you’d like them to, it can be easy to blame yourself and think your energy is bad or wrong. Another word for this is ‘invalidation’. If you think you or your energy are wrong, you are invalidated. You’ve forgotten that you have value.

It is when you have your own energy within yourself, and when you can begin to get more of your energy back again, that you start to become validated again. There is nothing wrong with your own energy, but if you are walking around holding onto all kinds of energies you picked up from other people and events, it’s more difficult to have enough of your own energy to do what it is you want to do. You forget your own value, or don’t get to know it, when you become a storehouse for energies that aren’t yours. It can feel like you’re carrying a burden around with you. All of the energy that isn’t you affects your body. When you take on other energies, they affect your body’s energy and health.

So, how do you change this? How do you begin to learn who you are, and to know your own energy? How do you get validated?

Getting to know yourself begins with you taking the time to go within yourself, and to begin to communicate with yourself, in order to learn more about what is true for you, who you are, and what you honestly want for your life. Meditation is a valuable tool you can use to become more aware of who you really are. Grounded meditation will help you to change your energy, and change your life. When you take the time to get to know the most important person in your life better – yourself – you make brilliant and lasting changes. It’s worth it!

The energy of freedom

How do you see your relationship with freedom?

You might see freedom as a way of living life, a goal, an outcome, an entitlement, patriotism, or even impossible.

Freedom happens on different fronts: financially, physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, in relationships, at work, while traveling, when alone. You have different levels of freedom in different areas of your life.

Depending on where you are right now in your life, you may feel free, or not. Guidelines for your level of freedom might be laid out for you by others in your group and your culture. Depending on whether you are male or female, young, old, married or single, straight or gay, educated, wealthy or not – your level of freedom changes, at least according to the prevailing wisdom around you. This is where judgment comes into play, and once judgement enters the picture, freedom diminishes.

Freedom can manifest in your life in many different ways.

Freedom, and how you see yourself in relation to it, comes out of your consciousness, your awareness. Freedom is not anarchy. You may feel entrapped by any number of situations in your life; whether you have any control over them is another thing to consider. Move away from anything or anyone who appears to keep you from feeling free, and your view changes. If you move the energy out of you, ie: let go of any energy that you’ve allowed to keep you enslaved, you gain freedom. It’s not about those out there doing it to you, it’s how you decide to have your own space regardless.

If you decide to free yourself from where you’ve allowed yourself to become enslaved, don’t blame others. Every challenge you’ve faced has only helped you to get stronger, to learn more about yourself, to move deeper into your own spirit. Once freed, you will have a new view of life and yourself. It isn’t anyone else’s responsibility to do this for you, though others can certainly help. We all help free each other through our words, acts, and creations, through sharing, a kind hello. Still, it is up to each one to do the actual work. If you want to gain freedom for yourself, you can.

The instinct of nearly all societies is to lock up anybody who is truly free. First, society begins by trying to beat you up. If this fails, they try to poison you. If this fails too, they finish by loading honors on your head. – Jean Cocteau (1889-1963)

Join me this Sunday, August 7, for a 60 minute guided teleseminar meditation on ‘The Energy of Freedom’. Learn more about and register for this or any future Sunday Meditation Teleseminars at the following link: The Sunday Meditation Teleseminar.

Healing yourself is the ultimate creative act

If you’ve believed that healing yourself is out of your reach, if you’ve thought that you needed experts to tell you how to properly operate your body and keep it healthy, you’re in for a happy surprise.

All healing is self healing. It begins with you.

The more awareness you have of your body, the more you listen to it, love it, and value it, the greater your ability to create health. The more you love who you are, the more you accept, forgive, and have permission to just be you, the more you heal.

It’s quite simple, really, so simple that you might not validate it for yourself. Everything begins with your spirit, your energy. Heal your spirit, and your spirit can heal your body. It all begins within you. You can decide in an instant to have this.

Healing yourself can begin effortlessly. All you need to do is want to heal. Ask how you can heal yourself, then listen to your answers. This is truly creative, the ultimate creative act. It’s a revolutionary one as well. It can be difficult to know your own truth in the face of all that information coming at you every day. But you do know. It’s scary to know sometimes, because it means you might disagree with what someone else says is real.

If healing yourself becomes your goal, you’ll find your answers. Like a writer telling a story, a painter discovering an image on the canvas, you are an artist. Your art form is yourself. Like a poet searching for the right word, a dancer looking for the feeling and flow in a movement, you are in the process of creating.

Bringing anything into form is an activity that only happens in the present moment. The more of yourself you can bring back to this moment, the more energy you’ll have to create with. You are your own work of art. What if self healing was your art form?

Creating consciously begins with your focus

Just because your body shows up someplace doesn’t mean your energy is with it.

Where you put your focus is where your energy is. Where you put your energy is where you are spiritually, as a being. That is also where you create.  You’ll need that all important part of you – your spirit – in order to create what it is you want. The more of your energy you can have here now, where your body is, the easier it is to create effortlessly.

What are you focusing on now? If you spend a lot of time and energy focusing on someone else’s problems, you might have a difficult time focusing on what it is you want to create. If you have a habit of putting your attention on negatives, like your own self perceived shortcomings, you’ll be limited as to how much of your energy is available to manifest your new creations. If you’ve got your attention on the past, trying to solve old issues you cannot ever solve, your energy isn’t here. You can get pretty stuck this way.

Your attention point is so valuable that it’s constantly being competed for. The people in your family, those you work with, friends, marketers, salespeople, entertainers, news shows, political candidates – everyone wants to get your attention. The competition is stiff and the playing field is full.

Just imagine – if all of those people are competing to have you pay attention to them, you must possess something incredibly valuable!

So, what would happen if you were to turn your attention point back on yourself and your own life?

Begin by asking yourself honestly, do you find the latest antics by out of control celebrities more entertaining than your own life? Are the personal dramas of your friends and family taking up so much of your energy that you barely have enough left to take care of your needs? Do you spend a lot of time watching TV, most of it bad news? All of this has the effect of scattering your energy so that you don’t have it with you.

You can decide to become conscious about where you are putting your energy.

Doing this will help you to heal yourself, get to know yourself better, learn more about what is true for you now, what’s out of date, and what you really want. Meditation and grounding will help you with this, because when you practice these simple tools, you naturally bring your attention back to yourself now, in this moment.

If you’re focusing on happiness, peace, joy, love, forgiveness, gratitude – you’ll create these energies in your life. You’ll have them available for your own use. If you pay attention to what your body needs from you, and you listen to it, you’ll create a healthy diet, and you’ll know what your body needs to stay vibrant. If you listen to your intuition, your still small voice within, you’ll allow yourself to be guided in ways nothing else can do for you.

It’s hard to sit still and focus when there are so many distractions in the world. If you find time every day to sit and listen to yourself and to your body, without outside interference, you’ll gain valuable information. Your body is wise, and so are you. All of that outside grit and noise can wear down your ability to listen, so you have to decide to own it. Once you begin, you’re on your way!

Creativity, stillness, and magic

This is a guest post by Claire Partin

The Titan Arum, otherwise known as the corpse flower, blooms every hundred years and grows to be the worldʼs largest blossom, attracting tourists from around the world. It is tall, phallic and smells like hell.

I think the lesson here is donʼt let your creative projects wait one hundred years to blossom or else they might stink.

But there is another lesson, and that is the magic is there, waiting to happen. It takes patience, but if you keep the plant fed and watered every now and then a magnificent bloom will appear.

Donʼt mistake patience for procrastination. It is amazing how when pressed with a deadline I suddenly find it very important to redecorate my apartment and watch the Real Housewives marathon on cable TV.

Rather than procrastinate, next time practice stillness. A good way to find stillness is through meditation, but there is also truth to the phrase “sleep on it.” The seeds are there. The beautiful blossoms of your creativity will appear. You donʼt need to push the shoots through the stems; they know how to bloom already.

I am not saying that creativity just happens, obviously. You do need to sit down and type the screenplay, rehearse the part, pick up the guitar to compose that song, pick up the brush to paint your canvas, write the punch line to that joke. Art doesn’t appear out of thin air, as much as we would like it to.

Stillness helps if, like me, you have many ideas and donʼt know where to start. Stillness helps create space in the middle of working on a project as well. Next time you are struggling to find a solution in your work try taking a little quiet time. When you return to the computer, the canvas or the piano you might be surprised how easy things flow having taken some space.

Sometimes I forget to use this tool and instead to quiet the buzz in my head I end up watching reruns of Sex and the City, tempted to call up old boyfriends and give them a piece of my mind.  This is never a good idea by the way unless you are looking for some good self deprecating material for your stand up act. Even then it is not a good idea.

I could have saved myself some time and aggravation if I had just turned off the TV and sat in stillness.

The Quakers in their meetings have a practice of sitting in silence. No one speaks unless absolutely compelled to do so, and then no one is required to respond. This makes what is said all the more powerful. There is also great power in just sitting in silence.

Perhaps a better example than the corpse flower would be the lovely night blooming jasmine that appears outside my window from late February to late March. It surprises me every year, this beautiful smell that transports me to the time when I first moved to Los Angeles. I have lived here nearly twenty years and yet I forget about the night blooming jasmine until one night in late winter I walk home and there it is, that amazing aroma filling the air.

But the jasmine plant was there all along, growing and taking over the fence knowing full well the blossoms would appear. The blossoms were a foregone conclusion. The plant didnʼt forget, just me. And let me tell you it is nice to be transported by the magic of that smell every year.

Sometimes a plant shows up that you didn’t even know was there, like the mysterious tomato plant that appears next to the corn you planted. But if you hadn’t been out there gardening in the first place you never would have found that gorgeous beefsteak tomato.  The point is to keep creating and to trust the process. To create means to make, not to day-dream or talk about or hope for or imagine.

We have stories and art in us, and some of these creations have been there for a month or a year, some are from our childhood, and some from generations before us that come from deep in our bones. But great art comes from within. You can boost your creativity by adding a little quiet to your creative process, whatever that may be. If you are patient I bet you will discover magic appearing more often in
your work, and every now and then you might grow a crazy giant bloom that people pay good money to see (hopefully one that doesnʼt stink) or something more delicate but equally remarkable like the night blooming jasmine.

Let your ideas and projects grow. Feed your creativity by listening to good music, having fun conversations with friends, or going for walks; whatever gets the juices flowing. Add a little stillness or meditation practice to the mix. But mostly just trust that the magic will appear. If it is there it will find itʼs way out and surprise you (and consequently your audience or viewers) when you least expect it.
